I used the ball in a local association tournament today. The pattern was not a THS, but not extremely tough either. It was definitely heavier that what I normally see in league and maybe a foot or two longer. I asked the director afterwards what pattern was used and he didn't know the "name".

I bowled two squads and both played quite differently.

S1: This is a trios tournament and our team bowled unopposed. I started with the PP and my Frantic. The oilier pattern forced me to go with the PP. It read the midlane pretty good and carry was excellent on the fresh. If I missed a board to two right, I got the 10 out. I played them pretty straight at 12-8 to start. They started transitioning in after game 1. I moved about 4 and 2 total until the 6th frame. Then, the pair started getting really tight. I moved right, moved right some more, and some more until I was 2 right of where I started with my feet. I punched the last 6 of the 3rd game for 686, which I believe was second high in the building.

S2: They reoiled before this squad. Different team and we bowled another team during this squad. I started about the same spot as i finished the previous set, pretty much straight up 10 board. I started with a 4 bagger and made small adjustments inside as they broke down. I ended up moving in and playing a soft belly from 16-10. My carry went south the deeper i got as the PP just didn't have the backends it needed to really kick the corner pins. I managed a clean 204 and shot 678 for the second block.

The ball rolls well and continuation is great. I'll tinker with the surface to see if I can get it to read alittle harder at the breakpoint. If not, I'm going to plug and redrill the XH down on the VAL.

This is my first Lane 1 in about 4/5 years. I've basically always had good results with lane 1, but not enough to justify the higher costs Lane 1 demands.
