Definatly Carbide plus, Carrydown should not be an issue, Cobalt would be a tad better but can get a little more ovr/undr, Carbide plus has the c/2 core and is a lot smoother, It will give you a little better read in the carrydown

is it me or are there better options out there than the latest and greatest from Lane #1.
everyone on this board seems to recommend the latest unproven release.
i second the Uranum Solid.
and the Hybrid Dirty Bomb.
ive seen the HDB in action, and it can definately hold its own on the heavier stuff.

This ball is not unproven, It is a re-release from 4 yrs ago, I had the original and am baseing my opinion from that one, I dont think there will be much difference with this one, beside that i don't have the HDB, or the uranium solid so i can't speak for those 2 i am sure those are great choices, We are not talking flood here but some carrydown, A "Mild" particle should be able to handle this condition.

and if you actually knew what you are talking about, then you WOULD know that the cover is completely different...
and unproven on that core.
-
...and look at strikealot's speed, 17-18 MPH? you kidding?
any pattern beyond 38 feet is going to seem like heavy oil.
cool off on the speed bro, let the tsunami work a little.
-
the great debate is on...thanks for all the replies....im new to lane 1 but loving what im seeing...

Activator Max, PK18, Happen to know what that is with all the brunswck stuff you have you should, Know what i am talking about, I have had all the danger zone stuff, fuse stuff, inferno stuff at one time or another, Lane 1 is made by brunswick need i say more it will hold its own, I can throw my zone classic and get it to hook on carrydown just not at 17mph..........

yeah, thats my whole point though.
carry down is a shot killer over 15 MPH.
patterns over 38 feet for him will SEEM carried down, only because the ball will not have enough time/friction to pick up a roll.
im not arguing Brunswick's reputation, because it needs no argument.
im arguing people suggesting the latest and greatest when it hasnt even been out for a month yet, and on a cover that is new to the C/2 core.
CARBIDE+ CARBIDE+ CARBIDE+ CARBIDE+ CARBIDE+ CARBIDE+!!!
CARBIDE+ for everything!
we know nothing about it yet!
Prime Example: Enriched Uranium, people were suggesting the ball based on "hook rating" for med-heavy oil.
after user feedback: Medium Oil
-
YOU know how the Carbide+ is for YOU
do you throw 17-18 MPH?
there isnt DIVERSE opinions about this ball yet.
and blindly suggesting a ball for someone is not only ignorant but irresponsible.
i dont see a Carbide+ in trigger's or retroman's profile.
so how can you suggest it?

I wouldn't say it's unproven as there is one in my hands right now.
so... all ball manufacturers sign this guy up!

ok, ill answer the question... with more questions.
have you tried backing off the speed a bit when you notice carry down?
how severe does the carry down get in your house?
When does it occur during the set?
does it evaporate quickly?
Synthetics? Wood?
there may be more cost effective solutions to your problem with carry down than buying a new ball to deal with it.

Don't have one yet, Have to many as it is, Can't throw them all,Forgot about the bcb have only had the bcb for 2 sets, But it can definatly handle carry down or dirty backends whatever you want to call it no prob, your not going to get a reactive to read well on it unless you have some dry somewhere, A mild particle should git er dun without a doubt, As long as there is head oil thats the key

I throw 19+ mph and I own both the Carbide and the Super Carbide (not bomb) and have found they both work well on carry down, with the Carbide working a little better, for me at least.

i kill 10 pins at that speed, how can you get a ball to turn on flat/long patterns?
you leave many 1-2-4-10's with carry down?
i never will understand the high speed player.
i swear its a big dick waiving contest with you guys...
anyway, good luck finding the ball you need.
and just to add, a light/medium load particle should do the job without burning off too much energy in the midlane.

Actually, on carry down I tend to leave some 2-4-8-10's before my adjustments. On my 10 pin's, I am "usually" around 23-24, but messing around have hit 26 a time or two, and this is no "big dick waiving contest" either. Why would it make me "cooler" cuz I can throw the ball hard. Anyways, as I was saying earlier, I have higher speeds, and the original Carbide works wonders, so I would thing the new one would be just as good, if not better...

And i think this was the recomendation that i gave for sombody that knows "Nothing" A mild particle will work and that is what the Carbide Plus is,Geez, make a sugestion on a ball and all of a sudden after bowling for 40 yrs and coaching Lewiston High School to Back to Back State titles i must have forgot everything i have learned..........lol

Robert Smith and a few other playing 22MPH Comfortably
thats a pretty poor example if you're looking to make a point.
Where has Max Bob been since the PBA patterns were introduced?
dood dominated in college with that style, but when it comes down to making consistent repetitive shots with break point control, he just cant hang with lower speed shot makers, and you know who they are.
-
I'm wondering if you guys are arguing over different things....
If you're talking ball speed off the hand, 17-18 is average to fast. If that's at the deck, then it's fast since normal friction a 17mph ball would encounter would slow it down to around 15mph. Me thinks Mav is thinking at the deck while the others are thinking off the hand...
EDIT: Considering the original poster says his rpm rate is around 300, I'd guess that his 17-18mph is probably off the hand, because otherwise I'd imagine he has some serious problems getting the ball to turn over as he'd be speed dominant.

Simple carrydown solution.....
move left with a bigger ball.
