Spinning a Buzzbomb
« on: February 24, 2008, 08:23:16 AM »
Sorry guys,

So just for fun,  I put the Buzzbomb on the spinner on side different sides to watch for the oscilaion.  usually with a ball as dynamic as the Buzzbomb is suppose to be, one of the sides should cause the ball spinnerto jump all around the place.  On all six sides, the ball spinner was pretty stable.  Little to no difference on the six sides.  There was some, but most bowling balls ha a side that gives the ball a pronouced osacilation. No?

Varies with the stability of the spinner, but for the most part there will be a orientation on the spinner that makes the ball want to wobble more than others.

Strong asymmetrical and higher RG symmetrical cores are better at doing this than low RG symmetrical cores in my experience.

Since mine is far from a "dud", I was curious enough to throw it on the spinner. Mine does not cause much wobble in any position either. I don't think that's your problem, Nicanor.

To be honest, I've never heard that theory. I'd love to hear an explanation of it.

I imagine a significant amount of top or bottom weight would cause ANY ball to wobble a lot on any spinner. Otherwise, I'm not sure what else might cause wobble or imbalance ona spinner.

I'm not saying that the spinner theory has any merit.  The pro shop use to clean/sand/polish my bowling balls and when ther wsa a significant amount of wobble on the spinner, he said the ball diff must be high and the break point must be strong.  Thats why I was asking.  Some bowling balls you put on a spinner and onone side the ball is almost jumping out of the ball spinner cup.  When you turn the ball, you will find a postion that the ball spins smooth.  Thats why I wsa asking.

Is this the MB determinator spinner or just the plain take-care-of-the-ball spinner?

If the later, I think that's just excessive top/bottom weight. I am not 100% certain which is why I'm phrasing it this way.

Personal ball cleaner/polishing spinner.

But Try it on some of you bowling balls that jump off the break point and see if they don't want to jump out of the cup in some positions.

all of mine wobblw when placed in certain positions on the ball spinner, sometimes you have to let your hand ride on the ball as it spins but it can be felt, my BB doesnt wobble much but my cherry c2 can really be felt
