BCB is dead:-x//////old post i bowled with it tonight
« on: September 22, 2008, 04:31:19 PM »
i bowled with it tonight, it seemed to hit nice, and didnt break early at all which is wierd with the scotch brite pad i used.  it broke nice and late and let for a very nice read on the lane....i was suprised, and suggestions on to what to do with it as far as surface being cracked and dulled w/ a green scotch bright

I've had this ball for about 4years, has well over 150games on it.  was my 300 ball so its kinda hard to jus trash it.  well recently it lost its potential.  so i read up on the hot water method and i wamred it slowly in 30min intervals until i got it up were the water was hot and added dawn.  well b4 i did that i used green scotch bright pad on it to dull it...and now after the hot water extraction, i have a big crack prlly 3inches long from my pin going towards my pap, and my plug by my new thumb hole cracked.  and let alone w/ that, i bowled w/ it and it jus seems dead, it doesnt grab much and rolls super early if at all reminds me of a old urethane ball now..is there any hope for this...i can get pics if ya want..im just lost

That's why I always take to my proshop to handle oil extraction

It sucks that it cracked

yea true, but considering the lanes im always at the proshop is a joke, the guy is never there, and when he is he doesnt care about his customers.  and he doesnt know what hes doing i've had little exp. with laying out and drilling balls, they were my own of course, but i did good imo...so id rather pay him the money to do it, but let me do it lol..i dont know its just a joke around here

Nichol,

Either your home's tap water was too hot or there was somehting wrong with that plug in the first place. Water should be less than 150 degrees Fahrenheit at the MOST! Yes, if your pro shop has a Revivor or  Rejuvenator oven, by all means use that in the future. It has all the safeguards you do not have at home.

If there is now a crack, your only choice is to take it to the pro shop to see what they can do.

Yeah, I can understand the bad proshop  Any others around?

Beans is a poster here that drilled and ran the booth at Nationals this year for Lane#1.  Top notch guy.
