Buzzsaw/c cores (Opinion & Poll)
« on: August 13, 2005, 04:31:33 AM »
Now that I have had the oportunity to bowl with the buzzsaw/c solid carbide & the cherry C2, I know why the more seasoned buzzsaw diehards fell in love with the lane1 product.(Not that there is anything wrong with the new ones)

The poll I would like to conduct & the question I would like to ask is this 2 part yes or no:

1.  Do you think a ball with the most up to date coverstock(Activator plus-OR?) & with the diamond core & 2 separated mini nuggets of the more dense material now used would be a great addition to the buzzsaw line?

2.  Would you buy one?

We have, I think, about 60 FOS members plus other buzzsaw loyalists, & if we could get enough positive feedback, maybe Mr. Buzzsaw would consider a retro design ball with possibly the C2 core made with new tech material with a new tech coverstock. I would really urge a large response from the group, either yea or nay. Thanks!

Your suggestion of using the old cores with the newer coverstocks is an interesting one.  It suggests that we Lane #1 users will never be satisfied: the more we have the more we want.  We had the old stuff we wanted new stuff.  We got the new stuff we want the old stuff redone!  Let's drive Lane #1 crazy with our ever-changing desires!

That being said:  this has already happened with the original c core in the form of uranium pearl and solid  is not strickly true.  The Uraniums have the diamond cores not the /C cores.  The H20 is close to being retro /C2.  For me the /C cores and /C2 cores are VERY satisfactory.

keep in mind with the U-pearl and solid, while they did use the diamond, they were a more dense diamond, so it technically was not the same.

I myself wouldn't mind seeing that core wrapped by the Activator+ shell.
That would be worth looking seriously at. My brother struggled with his Absolute and had it drilled twice before he liked it.

I tried it before he had it redrilled and thought it had potential. I have not tried it since. Now you throw any Lane #1 core inside the Absolute cover and I'll probably bite on it...

Yes, and YES...

If you are going to say the C2 is the most popular then maybe you should figure out which C2 you are talking about: separated, stacked or offset.  All of these have two nuggets and each has its qualities.  Which of the old covers worked best with the particular C2 arrangement you like most?

By the way - yes X 2

I did like my Cherry /C2.  Okay, so what was the real difference between the Blueberry and the Raspberries(same cores, same PK18 covers) - polish?

Dabuzz,  The c2 cores were before I was introduced to the buzzsaw line. By looking at the specs & cores, I don't see a difference between the blueberry & raspberry. I am talking about the coe with the separated mini nuggets like in the pearl & solid carbides, & the cherry c2. They all have the separated nuggets, but I can't figure out why they label the cherry as C2, & the carbides as just C. At any rate, I think the newer solid coverstock with the separated mini nuggets using the newer dense material would make a great ball to have. I would just like to see maybe a one time special limited production if feasable.

Well of the 17 or 18 responses we got only one negative & he's not with FOS.
However, I don't think 16 or 17 people requesting a retro cored ball would be enough to petition lane1. I guess the golden nugget may have been close, but I don't think that was a big seller. Maybe someday we'll be surprised with a solid resin C2 core like the cherry pearl.

I vote yes and yes, and sorry I been busy.

Now I am not positive here but I belive the super dense material in the uraniums is what the old mini nugget material was.  Meaning any nuggets used would be same material as the old ones.  You just cant have a super dense big diamond core and then more dense mini nuggets I dont think they can do that.  If you follow what I am trying to explain.  What I am trying to say is I belive they took the material they use to use in mini nuggets and made the big core of the Uranium.  Either way right or wrong seperated or not, yes old C2 cores and new covers can't be a bad thing.

Oh and to answer this, yes exact same balls except BB was highly polished out of box and black rasb was dull.  Not sure what box on pink rasberry was but it is also exact same core and cover.

almost positive you are correct on that. The dense Uranium cores were the same density of the mini diamonds.
