Looking for info on the Teal Buzzsaw
« on: May 19, 2003, 10:34:20 PM »
I just received the Teal Buzzsaw and I read on bowlingballreviews.com that this was a heavy oil ball.  The ball is Teal but the ball has a full size circular saw blade on the ball with the letters Pro inside the circle, it also has a half circular saw blade with the words PRO-BUZZSAW under the half blade.

Is this the Teal Buzzsaw that is on the website or is this the Pro version of the orginal Teal Buzzsaw?

Thank you Ragnar.  The ball is teal in color but doesn't say Teal Buzzsaw on the ball, it doesn't say Comet Pro either but it does say Pro Buzzsaw.

Thanks again for the info.

Ragnar,

I checked Bowling ballreviews and the Comt Pro was blue and it did not have a picture of the Comet.

I have two teals.  They do not have the word "Pro" on them.  I saw one of these a couple of years ago on ebay.  I think drillwizard had it on there.  Might have been Beans though.

Thanks for the help.  I drilled the ball today and the ball is very controllable and does hit the pocket hard, but it didn't work well.  I'll call Lane 1 and talk to Richie tomorrow and see what he remembers about this ball.

I have a Teal Buzzsaw Pro.  When I bought it, I remember the proshop operator saying that it was supposed to be a mellower ball than the Pink Raspberry, which I also bought at the time.  I dont believe it to be a heavy oil ball, thought the proshop operator said that it had the word Pro on it because the pros on tour wanted a milder ball.

MI-2-AZ,

I'm glad someone had thrown the ball.  I threw it yesterday on dry wood lanes then again on fresh oil in league.  On the light oil on the wood lanes the ball was great but on the fresh lomnger oil on synthetics it didn't work near as well until the lanes starting to break down.  But I can see that is is a control ball.

Any idea what kind of coverstock is on the ball?

Nicanor,

Sorry, I dont know anything about the coverstock on the Teal Pro.  Not even sure if they used the same core as the regular Teal.  I cant go and ask the guy I bought it from because he is no longer at the proshop.  You might try asking someone at Lane#1 or asking some of the posters here who are close to Lane#1.

All I know is what I remember the proshop operator saying before and after I purchased it.  He said it was a milder ball and I was under the impression that he only got the ball because he knew someone at Lane#1.  I think it was a limited release ball, perhaps only for the pros.

I know that the ball was very controllable, I was able to find the pocket easily with the ball but had trouble carrying with it.  It did not do well on heavy oil as you noted.

Hope you find the info you are looking for and I will keep on eye on this topic to learn for myself.

Thanks for the response Beans.  I have thrown the Teal a lot this past week and I can see why it would be a favorite amongst the Pros.

The ball can be played down and in with ease and can swing with control when the back ends are strong.  Verey controllable and carries light hits very well.  Great addition to my Lane 1 arsenal.  Anyone throwing a Lane 1 arsenal only could use this ball.  This ball is better then the Viper, for sure, Emerald and the XL. Covers any of the conditoins those bals would cover but reads the lane better and isn't near as unpredictable. IMHO.

Thanks again Beans.
