Uranium Factor Polish?
« on: October 11, 2005, 09:49:17 AM »
Does anyone know what grit polish this ball came with "out of the box"?  I can't find anything besides, "Highly Polished."  Thanks.

I've seen a wide range of 3M rubbing Compounds making a ball from a so-so finish to a high gloss finish, so when a person says to use a 3M Rubbing Coumpound, how is a person supposed to know exactly which 3M Rubbing Coumpound to use?

Hi Brickguy, I don't know the answer to your question. The only time I have read Mr. Buzzsaws answer on that, he just said 3m rubbing compound. The one I have is a black bottle & I think it goes to 1200 grit. I also have the 3m finesse-it which goes to 2000.

As I understand it they use 3m rubbing compound more so now and all I was told is regular 3m rubbing compound.  However it was known on all their pearl balls were wet sanded to 400 grit and Brunswick high gloss applied.  I belive on their solid balls they sand 600 and appply rubbing compound.  They may have made the switch to rubbing compound on all their stuff I am not sure but I pretty sure balls like the nugget the pearl cherry bomb and the pearl uranium were 400 and high gloss polish.
