Yeah, the U pearl wasn't the answer at all. I knew as well that it was gonna bounce too hard off the dry boards and i hit beak a lot. But couldn't get into a groove either with my UI or HDB again. This would probably be a good time to add a particle ball to my arsenal. I used to have an storm ace but I sold it, maybe a good time to try an H20.

hope this helps--just came back from a tournament this weekend..we played on old wood lanes...nine games of qualifying, then today in masters ,another 11 games.
as you can imagine the lanes broke down fast,and ball speed and hitting your mark was key...i used several buzzsaws, dirty bomb with 1.30 drilling,pearl carbide,pin over ring,cg out, purple pro,pin over bridge,cg out.
none of these were working that well,but they got me into the masters.
this morning i changed to a dirty bomb with pin under,cg out, hybrid,pin under cg out,and a bullet.
what a difference....did most damage with dirty bomb..read the lane well..also after a while, the bullet was great..played mostly up the 8th board standing square to the line....my ball speed is usually about 18mph,375 revs....i noticed if my ball speed was too fast ,i was leaving corner pins,so by relaxing the hand and being a little slower and smoother,the ball hit alot better..finished 3 rd overall...good luck with your tournament.
