Title: Better benchmark ball?
Post by: cable-tes on May 03, 2006, 12:37:03 PM
Hey guys,
I haven't been able to post on here for a good month or so because of working and the golf team but now I'm in a situation concerning buying a new ball. The question is, I'm looking for a new benchmark potential ball between the Tsunami and the Cobalt Bomb. I've thrown the Tsunami before from a friend and I was very impressed with the carry and the reaction it had. However, my proshop guy (Who I've known for a long time) believes I should get the Cobalt instead. Any advice that can help me choose my decision? I've heard good things about both, but I'm still unsure.

Thanks,

As a benchmark ball I'd say the Tsunami.

Either way you can't go wrong, I have them both and love'm both.

Would agreee with the Tsunami, It is much smoother than the Cobalt.

I went to the gas station the other day and told the man behind the counter that I wanted $5.00 worth of gas. Gas was so high he farted and took my money!

The Tsunami would be a better benchmark ball for the simple reason it rolls smoother, with a more even arc to the pocket. That's what you're looking for in a benchmark ball, one that is middle of the road.

With that being said, the new Carbide Plus would seem to fit the bill nicely also. You may need a touch more polish than the out of box finish, but it be in the strong medium to oilier range, which is good for a benchmark ball. =:^D

Thanks for the advice guys,

Now that you brought up the Carbide Plus, should I consider waiting the few weeks until it comes out? I'm pretty sure at this point I'm going for the Tsunami, but it may be helpful in my decision to see you guys use the carbide plus first when it comes out and then have feedback about it later.
