I have a Big Curve and really like the control it offers, both dull and polished. It comes stock 2000 grit dull. Since I rarely face more than medium oil, I put polish over the stock 2000. I got more length and slightly more backend, but not nearly as much as I expected. Later, I learned that the Big Curve's coverstock has some particles in it. I don't think it has a lot but it does have them. Thus, the control type of ball reaction, even with polish.
Since it is an asymmetric and a particle, I'd suggest a less rough surface on it, maybe try the stock 2000 and redrill it with a smaller Val angle and shorter pin-PAP (maybe a 4" - 4.5" range) to help your apparently higher ball speed.
