Hi gang, I own only 1, Lane#1 ball, and it is a Chainsaw.  I absolutely love this ball, and use it more than any of my other balls by other companies.  Being that it is now an older, well used ball, I am now thinking of what would be a good replacement for this ball? 

I think a friend has gone down in weight to 14 he has a very lightly used 15 pound Im almost he would probably be rid of it he has a lot of equipment he's moving

Ripsaw.

I like the SOS with a little surface to smooth it out. The Ripsaw isn't really a good comparison, in my opinion. The thing that makes the Chainsaw unique is the low flaring core. The Ripsaw has a fairly strong core for a light oil ball. Another ball with the Chainsaw core is the best bet for a replacement.

I think that the Ripsaw Sanded to 4000 and polished gave my the look i had with the OG chain-saw, but i drilled mine 50-4-55 so it could be different for every one. The SOS has a little bit more length then the OG chain-saw for me. but thats my  2cents

I'm not brand specific, so being that the OG Chainsaw has, like tywithay mentioned, a low flaring core, do you guys think maybe something along the lines of a Hammer Arson Low-Flare, or a AMF Cobra SE or ? 

Possibly not because
- the Arson Low Flare has a super low RG, 2.48
- the Cobra SE because the coverstock is so strong.

I have a ball similar to the Chainsaw. the Visionary Blue/Green Centaur. Its core has both a highish RG and a low differential and both coverstock are on the not strong side.

There are few balls that fit this mold these days where several companies weakest balls handle true medium oil. Weak balls that have mild resin cover, high RG and low diff are Slingshot and Tropical Breeze and Silver Pearl Recon (recently discontinued).
Even the mild Track 300C is s step above these balls.
