Is there a hole in this lineup

Here's my winter saw arsenal. Viper, Blueberry dilled over label with pin above bridge, axis drilled blueberry, and i have a deal pending on a used XL. Do i need anything else? I'm a lefty tweener about 15-16mph, low rev rate, very high 3/4 roll. I've been looking at the cranberry and cherry pearl bombs. Good choices or others? Help me out. Thanks, lefty.

L1Lefty,

The BB holds the Medium oil condition, while the Viper Holds the med-light/light oil.  The XL would kind of overlap the Viper, but may fall between the BB and Viper.  My suggestions for you would be the Black Cherry Bomb or Super Carbide Bomb for Heavy oil, and get the XXXL for dry/spares.  Your arsenal would look something like this:

BCB
BB
Viper (or XL)
XXXL

I would recommend an XXXL as a spare ball (personal preference) and a Super Carbide Bomb to cover flooded conditions.

Already have a white dot, sorry i didn't mention. I hardly roll on floods, would it still be worth it?

Go with the Black Cherry bomb for oily to heavy (the SCB may be too much).  As for the White Dot for dry and spares, you might as well use it as a boat anchor, in comparisson to the XXXL.  The only Plastic ball with a weight block, that hits harder than ANY other plastic ball on the market.

Hits harder than any plastic ball on the block........

at 3 times the price....heck how hard do you have to hit that single pin spare anywayz??...lol....and really 110 bucks (and that is not including drilling) for a freakin plastic ball to go straight at a spare??.......must be nice to be rich...;-)

My XXXL is NOT just for spares, and by the way, IT does not just go straight.  When the conditions are dry, and everyone else is complaining, my "plastic" hooks nicely to the pocket, and with the weight block, takes out MORE than just ONE pin.  No, I am not rich, but when I can pay 50.00 more (130.00 shipped, DRILLED, and slugs) than other plastics, AND in essence, get 2 balls for one price, I think that is smart. By the way, that is not 3x, nor 2x the price of other plastics.  I suggest you try a XXXL that fits you and you will see for yourself. You just do not like  Lane 1 because you think they are expensive; at least I do not trash other stuff just because I do not like them, or they do not fit my game.

ahhh Saw Mill.......why take everything so personal when it comes to Lane #1?? Notice there was no trashing in my post....no that ball is garbage....no should use it as a weight anchor...(like some on here do....;-)..)...You seem to be the one doing the trashing....I am just making observations and not saying one word on the performance or lack of by a ball or a company.......seems can't say anything bad about Lane 1....George Bush.....or Religion without the emotional outbursts from people here........chill out dude....lol...

As for 2x the price ....um...let's see...

Boogie Ball....40 bucks
White Dot....35 bucks
Maxim....38 bucks
Target Zone....35...
XXXL...110

not a math major but think my 3x is pretty darn close don't you???

Just don't see the reason to spend 110 bucks + on a ball predominately used for shooting spares and the odd and occasional burned out shot.......funny....have been bowling 15 years....and have never owned a plastic ball....and have never been shut out by lanes that are too dry.....have bowled International Events....Megabuck Events...Team USA.....ABC Nationals......so have a wide spectrum of experience to draw upon.....

but hey....it is still my opinion...nothing more and nothing less......(again notice not one word trashing anything.......and no suggestions of using a Lane 1 as an anchor...;-))..)....

$150.00 compared to $75.00 looks like 2X to me. =:^D

who is ripping you off on plastic?

 I live in a high price market and a white dot is 50.00 to 60 drilled.

as for the hole..

that depends what do you want from your line up.

Looks like 2 balls for med. one to arc and one with more backend.
you have the same for light with viper and the xl.

do you want less hook? more backend? handle more oil?

You need to have a plan when building a lineup. if you see med-light than maybe a Cherry Bomb drilled to go long and more backend.

the question pertained to Lane 1 and the price compared to other balls........so yes...Lane 1 is three times as much to purchase as the ones I listed....

as for drilling...well that is pretty much variable on location and other outside factors.......

but the argument I made is correct....to PURCHASE a XXXL it will cost you about 3X more than others...:-)))))))))....

It does cost more. But, it's not just a spare ball. So the choice is yours. If you just want a spare ball, you can get others cheaper. But, if you want an awsome strike ball on dirt, the XXXL is priceless..!! =:^D

Can't remark on the XXXL as haven't thrown one.......

But can say that I have 2 300's with a White Dot.......

not sure how much better my scoring would be with an XXXL...;-)....

I hope one day to try some more Lane 1's....but won't ever go the XXXL route as just not cost effective.  Now the Black Cherry sounds like something would be really interested in.........
