black cherry polished?
« on: January 21, 2006, 08:17:56 AM »
what would be the best polish to use on the BCB to make it go a little longer? i don't want to sacrifice any of the backend or hitting power though. on most of my stuff i've had good luck with black magic...should i try that? or is there something better? brunswick high gloss? lmk.

When those balls came out, I believe the recommended proceedure was to sand with 600 grit, then use 3m rubbing compound to bring to desired finish. I did that with mine when I had it & it did increase length. The surface on those balls for some reason was touchy, so be carefull what you use & how shiny you make it. If you decide against the rubbing compound, then I would go with the brunswick polish.

The above two polishes will change the base grit under the polish. if you want to keep that level of "grippiness", addding some length, then the only choice is Brunswick's High Gloss polish. It is a grit-less polish. Add a light dose by hand or better yet with a spinner; emphasis on light. You can always add more, but it's harder to back off a level unless you're experienced with a spinner /and coverstock changes.
