I was thinking about doing this tonight for league.  I'm more speed dominant than rev dominant, and my proshop guys tells me I should put more surface on my equipment.  Now my Time Bomb is pretty strong now (traded Time Bombs with a friend and his rolled way better for me).  I know this is a dull surfaced pearl.  I didn't want to harm the OOB finish on the Boom (layed out pretty strong already), but I was thinking about adding a touch of surface to give it a little more grab as I still have a tendency to get the ball down the lane pretty good.  Just would like some thoughts on any surface changes to this ball.

Same question applies to the Chainsaw...I really don't see dry lanes around here, and my Chainsaw is drilled stacked and actually moves darn good when I put a smooth roll on it.  It's strong as hell to the pocket...Was thinking about adding some surface to this ball as well since I do have to temper my speed when throwing it....

I might do this to my boom tonight, its still in box condition, everything I have in the bag right now is polished, BBR, storm VE and my Boom, even the blackfirse is polished, gonna take the Boom down to 2k abralon and see what it does.  Will be rolling on Chameleon this weekend, and with its weaker drilling and alittle surface I am hoping it gives me a look on that pattern

I think I'm going to try it as well....Trigg, you every put surface on the Chainsaw?  Mines moves pretty good, but I'm curious as to what some surface may do for it on a fresh shot...

nope always been an out of box guy and if I resurface I polish, With my higher revs and speed and low tilt I seem to have had isssues getting down lane, I changed my span and pitches which have lowered my tilt slightly and I am seeing more length so I might play with surface some on the current crop.  My black panther will be here tomorrow and cannot wait to see what that ball does

I took mine down with a gray scotch brite pad last night, it ended up looking about 2k abralon no polish, had more of a sheen to it, really smoothed out the backend, wasnt all jerky at all  I did not shoot well with it since I was horrible on ten pins the first game, by game two it was a little early so I went to my VE and had a much better look (probably what the Boom would have provided in box condition)  I will say I liked the smoother roll once I took the surface down

Tried the Boom @ 2k abralon last night.  I could see a little more move from the ball at that finish, though in this league, my Pink Panther is my money ball.  Stayed after (so lanes were quite used) and practiced some with it to gauge a feel for how aggressive it was.  I was standing further left than normal, yet there weren't too many boards I was trying to cover.  For me, the Boom carries just like all my other Lane #1 pieces (something that never was a problem).  I'm going to work on diversifying my arsenal for the next bowling season, as I recognize that I pretty much throw all my Lane #1 pieces good and they all rather give me the same look on the lanes (one or two earlier moves here and there, with the Red Death on the right conditions giving me the most noticeably change of direction out of all my Lane #1 pieces).  Other than that, nothing really is too distinguishably different.  My Time Bomb has seen more use for me in heavier oil now since I traded Time Bombs with a partner of mines.  It was definitely the type of drilling that has made the difference for me with that ball.  Hopefully I can build something that I can work with and score better with....Mr. Mo Pinel seems to think I have a pretty solid game....it's been a blessing to have a knowledgeable figure around my bowling house and provide me with insight, swing thoughts and other useful suggestions to help build a solid foundation to bowl with.....

Oh, didn't get a chance to dull the Chainsaw, may try that in a couple weeks though....

Yeah Trigg, ball has a nice look to it when taken down in finish.  It was smoother on the back with that finish as well.  But you guys have so much more hand than I, that the backend reaction is going to be more noticeable for you.  I have a pretty strong layout on my Boom, but the look I get on some of my equipment really hasn't been too different.  My Pink is at 2k abr I think, and with the layout I have (stacked over ring), it gets downlane good and makes a definitive move towards the pocket on the backend.  People love watching me throw that ball.  One of my bowling partners swears he is going to get one as soon as he can....I do thank you as you were the one who allowed my to get my hands on this wonderful piece of equipment (though I still kinda wish I was able to get that Pearl Cherry Bomb).  BTW, did Fedex reimburse you on that lost ball?  Have you come across another Pearl or Black Cherry Bomb? You know you were supposed to look out for me if you did...lol...
