I've been throwing this ball the last 3 weeks and I love the early roll on it and the action when it hits the pins is great. The only thing that is bugging me is I'd like the backend move to the pocket to be stronger and move agressive. I haven't done anything to the surface of the ball yet. Was looking for suggestions on what to do to get this reaction. Should I keep the OOB finish at 2K abralon and maybe take the polish off and keep it matte finish? Or should i look at changing the abralon finish and keeping it polish or changing it to matte? Thanks in advance

Polish? What polish?

Everything I've read about it says the stock surface is 2000 grit dull/matte.

Did you add polish? If so, you added backend.

Any surface change to add backend is going to make it handle less oil: polish or taking the cover to P4000 grit.

You could have drilled it with a lower VAL angle, but I'm sure you don't want to redrill it just to do that,

You can also add a flare reducing weight hole, but will also reduce its oil handling ability.

this ball does come matte but polishes up quickly, it gets a nice sheen off the lanes fast, I would take it back down to 2k abralon no polish

i was subbing last night and that is exactly what i did, i took it back to 2k with no polish, looked great for the first game but had to gradually move further and further right as the night progressed, and i did notice a nice shine on it at the end of the night. thanks for all the input

If the shine is coming from using it on a good amount of oil, I think you may need a better cleaner after use. Many of these strong coverstocks absorb oil at a very high rate. They need to be cleaned immediately after use (not when you go home). Resanding them does not remove the oil. If they are shining up quickly get one of the "super" (my term) cleaners: Clean and Dull, or Hook It,and use them daily instead of every 3 - 4 outings.

i really love this ball after taking the polish off, when i had i t drilled it, i decided to polish it up because i thought it would be too strong but and not get through the heads clean enough. this thing is an oil monster. everyone else was having difficulty getting through the oil but the BP just eats it up and makes a strong move

It should be 2k abralon out of box. Depending on layout and lane conditions hard to suggest. I have noticed with mine that tends to leave corner pins due to having to play deeper. Havent thrown on a sport shot yet, but it should play well. The pink Panther is better for house shots the Black is a lot stronger.
