Golden Nugget
« on: March 02, 2005, 04:22:54 PM »
Hello all,

I am thinking of getting a Golden Nugget.  I have been told and read that it is a backend monster.  Has anyone dulled on up?  If so how did it react?

I have had 2 golden nugget's and neither one of them was a backend monster. Don't get me wrong, its an OK ball.. But there are many other Lane 1 balls that hook more the GN..

If they only made a ball that would carry that da_n 7 pin (and I am right handed!!)

Thanks for the replys.  I am looking for something that is not a backend monster(I have enough of those).  Also has anyone dulled it up?

LANE1_BoWlEr,

I allready have a Uranium (but hove not throw it yet) and was just wondering how the GN would be because it is a particle and I am wanting to go to a few particles because I like there reaction, but with it being pearl I was thinking it would snap.

I had the same results as stated by jkiser and triggerman.

mine is drilled 3.5x5, CG in grip with pin at 12:00.

- i have gone to 600g and polished it, skidded too much and was jumpy.
- 800 grit, no polish, i swing it from 20 to 10 at the breakpoint, and it flips and kills.
- polished 800 grit was a 'straight-up-7-board and into the pocket' surface prep. it was great when the condition presented itself, but it HATED carrydown with the polish on it.
- if the ball is dull, i seem to have alot more control than with a polish. it is a bit too jumpy.
