I think I've asked this question before!  Can't remember the answer!

I remember the Yellow Dot bleeder plastic.....it was still bleedin a lot in my Florida garage and still hooking at my then 11 mph speed until about 1999!  But then.....it BLED to death in my 135 degree Florida garage!  Stopped hooking and I bought that bad boy Blue pearl Pulse(I heard it could shoot 900s!).  That thing hooked so much at 12 mph I thought it was crazy!!

Now I see this bleeder reactive!  What's that mean??

I think that's Lane#1's lingo for Columbia's/BASF's old Super-Flex resin formula, but no guarantees.

I've had superflex....and it never bled!  Not like my old used 1 year Yellow DOT bleeder....that then bled for 14 years in a Florida garage....then I would wipe and bowl once about every two years!  It kept bleedin and hookin then one day it wouldn't hook....

Does superflex bleed?

If not me thinks a different formulation.....but...I've never seen THIS bleeder and don't know....

I think the reference is to the color of the ball which resembles the Scarlet Yellow Dot.

 What made the bleeder break as much as it did was the durometer, I had some in the shop that had a reading 0f 53 on a Shor gauge. The bleeding was caused by uncured plastisiser.(spelling)

"Bleeder" is just a name they dreamt up. It does not describe the coverstock at all. I think the closest thing may be that the first ball they used the name on was also a deep red.

Charlest is correct.  It is just a name.  A Superflex coverstock is not going to "flex"  literally.  Dont read into it there LL.

The term " Bleeder ", came from the oozing of resin out of the cover, some of these balls left in a car trunk, would actually look like they were bleeding. Since the balls were a burgundy color the nick name " Bleeder "
 I have one that looks like a goose egg, they were so soft, that if left in a room where the temperature was over 75 degree they would lose there shape.

That was the Yellow Dot Bleeder. "Bleeder" was a name we bowlers came up with for it, for exactly the reason you described.

When I told LL it was name Lane#1 dreamt up, I meant for the coverstock name of a Super-Flex ball they marketed.

Hmmmm, I (me, moi)think it's superflex(not)?  Somebody is not reading the posts.

I have no idea what it is....I'm asking.  I'm just stating my old yellow dot bled.  It hooked more than my white dot which I used for spares.  Bleeder reactive?  What is it? My question.
