Looking for a good Ball
« on: September 27, 2003, 12:19:27 PM »
Hi there I was reading some of the reviews on lane one. We have new DBA synthetic lanes, I use an Elnino Storm. I love that ball, However since the lane changes I cant seem to get this ball to Hook, as a down and in shot.I used to throw a back up ball many many  many years ago, I see alot of people using this method of bowling and the ball seems to slid into the 1-3 pocket or brooklyn shot. i have been struggling with this ball and these new lanes. I dont have a Wide hook as my husband does. we call his hook the bannana hook cause its so wide then comes back to the 1-3 pocket. he is even having a hard time with these lanes. he has gone as far as tucking the pinky fingerin and palming the ball.(no fingers) and it still dont carry. I throw a speed of about 15.75 to 16.35. is there a better/newer ball for these lanes? for synthetic lanes. please advise. If I and my husband are in need of a new ball I would like to get one ASAP. as I have gone from a 210 ave to 176 in 4 weeks.

If you don't hook the ball a ton and want control on synthetics, find a blueberry.  Have had great luck with this ball.  If the house that you bowl in has a lot of oil, and you like a proactive versus a reactive shell then try a super carbide bomb, any carbide, or pretty much any of the lane 1 balls.  Just get it drilled up to fit your style.  You will probably throw the storm ball away.

The Blueberry is an awesome ball. I know of 2 15# used balls that are for sale if you are in need of 15's.

There is also a guy on here with a 16# used for sale.
