control drilling on a Uranium?

well, i went ahead and picked up a Uranium. i have wanted one3 for some time and had planned to pick up a used one, but grabbed this new one instead.

is has a 2" pin, and i want to use a control drill pattern on it, thumb leverage. do you think this would lead to a predictable arc from this ball in a medium oil/mild carrydown situation?

I had a Blueberry with a 2" pin and drilled it with a 2 x 2 stack (so it looked like a 2" on a side triangle).  Keep the pin on the line from your finger to your PAP and you won't thump holes and you'll have a ball with a good arc, but controlled.

I would go with a slight CG out, pin just under the ring finger. Thumb weight may cause the ball to roll too early, giving you carry problems from the early roll when crossing boards.

With the short pin, the ball may flare over the fingers with the lower pin when using thumb weight with a short pin. =:^D

You might also want to consider a label leverage pattern in the grip center (pin directly beneath ring, cg on vertical grip line). I have mine set up this way, and it's a very controlled arc reaction.

Like others have mentioned, there is a danger of flaring over holes with a short pin beneath the fingers, so be sure you track low enough before going in this direction.

well, as a general rule i track 3" out from both thumb/fingers. i do like using alot of different releases to get different reactions out of a ball. from what i have read and seen, this one i think is going to me an up-the-back type. hopefully i won't flare over the weight hole.

how much flare should i expect with this ball?
