Blue Death Surface Adjustment?
« on: December 21, 2009, 10:27:48 AM »
Have any of you tried altering the surface?  I have not but am thinking about knocking the polish off, starting with 4k abralon and going lower if needed.  I appreciate all inputs.

Thanks.

Mine was too weak at oob so I took the polish off. Kept it at 2000. Ball has a very nice move.

I can barely keep the BM on the right hand side of the head pin in OOB, then again lanes are very dry where I am bowling.

Roy,

OOB is ok but I'd like for it to pick up just a bit earlier for my 41' THS and heavier tournament shot.  Speed is 16 mph, PAP is 4 1/2 x 1/2 up. Placed the pin under bridge with cg out about 30*.  I don't want to make it too strong (why I want to start with 4k)but thought since it is hybrid it would take to surface adjustments pretty well.

Thanks.

If you're using it on a 41 ft tourney shot, it's not really the ideal conditions for the ball.

You should really have a Red Death for those conditions.

But if you're going to use a Blue Death, try going 2k abralon.  Just to knock off the factory polish.

Yep. 2k Abralon would be a nice surface for it.

I use mine on 41 foot heavier shot, I can use the red death but have to play more in the middle where as in OOB the blue death rocks from the outside, when i use the blue death I have the whole lane, as it breaks i can continue to move left, weith the red death, I'm automatically left of third arrow to start so parts of the lane become unusable to me (most of the league is right of 15 all night, so for me starting with them and then having the whole left side left is beneficial to me)
