Can anyone else tell I'm bored this week? (g)

You ever think about what you'd get if you could put a Lane #1 core inside someone else's coverstock? I used to think about this a lot when Brunswick when was still pouring the balls for Lane #1, because at that time I didn't match up well with Brunswick covers. But I liked the core idea.

I'd love to see either the Diamond or the Bomb core inside Storm's Monsoon Pearl or the Reactor covers, maybe even the defunct EOX cover from the Paradigm line. I'd also like to see what Visionary could do with these cores.

If I have a complaint about the old Columbia-poured balls and those after them, it's that they're a little milder than the Brunswick balls and have a different roll characteristic. I'd like to see the company build some angularity back into the balls through the coverstocks.

Jess

LL,
Isn't it funny how all the balls you mentioned were all released after Richie started with the diamond core??? Twisted Fury as well. He really is a true innovator and stands by his ideas. Not for 1 year or 2 years. BUT....For 17 years..And they still perform just fine!

I saw a Lane 1 test ball from Storm a few years back.  It looked like a Storm ball, diamond logo was tiny but was a nice looking ball.  I don't know what cover it was, but Chuck said it went super long and went sideways(compared to the Big-B balls at the time).

The diamond core has 8 sides to each half genius. Nothing at all comparable to a pyramid.

If you know so much about this sport. Who do you think came up with the 3 3/8 leverage layout? Who figured out how to lay out the Phantom core? Who was Hammer's most knowledgable driller and who did the PBA refuse to let back on the truck until he showed them how to lay out the leverage layout on 2 piece balls???

INNOVATOR!!!!!

So half of a diamond core is not comparable to a pyramid ?!

8 sides or 3...VERY similar, no ? Are you blind ?!

If you read my post I said "origins", not "exact"...Guess you missed that ?

I guess the 20% magic is in the other 5 sides ?

OHhhhh I think we found it !!!!!! The secret !!!!

Not the real Mezz!!!!!  I have dealt with him enough to know. He doesn't have the underscore in his name. I still think his name is Steve as well from Ca.

What have you ever done for this sport 302??? Richie started a successful company and has kept it going for a long time. I invented a polish. What in your mind is so innovative about other companies cores??? Most are just a ball with a    mass attached to the side, top or bottom of it. Ask Mo Pinel how different the 8 sides pyramid is to the 3 sided pyramid. The 3 sided pyramid is the FURY Torsion core by Brunswick. That didn't work too well so they went to the Twisted core with multiple sides to the pyramid just like our cores. It creates more force during rotation. You can have your opinion and I can have mine. This is mine..

Thanks  beans
