The Original Carbide vs. the Blueberry....
« on: November 03, 2003, 05:33:51 PM »
Now this should be interesting. I know I've already hinted at this in an earlier topic, but what I want to know is could I use the Carbide as a benchmark ball the way the Blueberry and Cranberry would be used? Man I love off-speed pitches!

Really. I read some earlier reviews about it and it seems to be just as versitle as the Blueberry and Cranberry are now. If I remember correctly, the Carbide has dual seperated nuggets. The Blueberry's nuggets are stacked but I have no idea what the difference would be from a technical standpoint.

So, if you had a chance to do it again, would you take the Carbide or the Blueberry as a benchmark ball. I hope this gets good.

It totally depends on which house I'm going to.

Right now I've got a Blue Carbide & a Pink Raspberry(same thing as the blueberry).

If I'm going to my second shift league on Prodigy oil, the pink is always my benchmark.

In a house I'm expecting more oil in, The Blue Carbide comes out.

Both provide such an even read that I could use either or, I just figure I'm saving myself a little time & a few practice shots by "guessing" at the general oil heaviness.

Bjaardker, thank you for A reply. I guess this topic isn't too interesting. I've never bowled with any Lane 1 equipment so I was just wondering if I found some older equipment to try and save some money, how comparable would it be to what Lane 1 has out now. Again, thanks for the reply, it's greatly appreciated.
