Bomb vs. HRG vs. Evolution
« on: April 08, 2007, 04:25:06 AM »
Hi all - I currently have a pearl Cobalt Bomb that I love, but if I need to or want to replace it, what currently available Lane 1 ball would be a good Cobalt Bomb replacement?  I know the pearl Bomb will always make a left turn for me even if I hit some carrydown - I'm wondering if anyone here has thrown the 3 I listed and what you think.

This would be for med to light conditions for a right handed stroker with med revs and speed; I use the Label drilling.

thanks!

if you love it .. why you want to replace it or even get another ball will roll the same ??

I can say the HRG will skid much more with snappy finish

I agree, I have 2 Cobalts, one drilled strong or med oil, and one drilled for length (pin above bridge) for medlight to light, then I go to my length drilled HRG.  I like my Cobalts, and was going to get the Evolution and Nebula, but Chuck seems to thnk that the Evolution with overlap too much with my Cobalts.  I would say that if you really are happy with your Cobalt, get something else to compliment it rather than replace it, like say the Nebula G-force.

If you do not want to grab another Pearl Cobalt before the supply dries up then I suggest you look at the Evolution. I am personally in love with my Evolution at the moment to the point I sold my Pearl Cobalt...I hope you enjoy it hawkeye4life!!!!

It's hard for me to do an exact comparison between the Evolution and the Pearl Cobalt in my hands due to the different drill patterns I had on them but I like the Evolution better.

However I can say the HRG acted nothing like my Pearl Cobalt. The HRG was very skid/flippy for me...nothing like my CObalt.

Grab up another pearl cobalt.  I have found that if you really match up well with a bowling ball, it's wise to grab a couple for later use.  Once the ball is discontinued it's gone for good.

having had all three, the evolution is the only ball still in the bag, covers a wider variety of condtions, can stay in play a whole lot longer and is just a killer ball in the hole.  by far one of my more favorite saws
