Tsunami
« on: September 07, 2005, 04:56:06 AM »
Has anyone thrown this ball?  I am hoping to hear something about it in terms of where it would fit in an arsenal, and how it will react on various oil conditions.  I have heard that it will be stronger than the Black Cherry and Uranium Pearl, but I don't know if that is true.

There is a lot of hype about this ball, and I am trying to distinguish how much of it is legitimate.  Obviously I am a Buzzsaw guy so I would love to try this ball, but I want to know exactly how it is supposed to react on the lanes.

I know it isn't released to the public yet, but someone out there must know something!

When I threw it (at a trade show, it was a demo ball) it was a little longer and sharper than the H2O, needing a little more dry.  Pretty much how Lane 1 described it.

Andy, do you mean it needs a little more dry than the H20 does?  I throw with pretty high speed and so I usually need stronger covers to help me create angle, even though I can rev it up pretty decent.

I haven't thrown the H20, but I would likely need some dry for that ball with my style.  If the Tsunami needs more dry than the H20, it probably won't work well for me unless I am bowling 2nd shift or something.

Andy,

I'm not 100% positive, but I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that the Tsunami is supposed to have a lower RG than the H20 and is supposed to be the alternative that is earlier to handle the next level of oil above the H20, which was for for lighter oils. Don't quote me yet, but I think that's what The Tsunami is supposed to be. I'd bet what you say at the Trade show what just a glitch due to potential problems and slip-ups.

I made a comment about that earlier, because I thought it was supposed to be an all around stronger ball too.  But the sawheads told me it was just supposed to be 5% longer and have 5% more backend, so I have no idea...

Andy, I have never thrown one, but from what I hear, that is correct. 5% longer with 5% more backend than the H2O.

That sounds like the relationship of the new Smoking Inferno to the Absolute Inferno. (I know the AI is stronger and earlier than the H2O.)

is what I heard too .. tho this is just in general

I already have an order with lane#1 for 4 of them, 2 for me ... gonna drill one str8 lable (pin and CG in my span) .. and from what Lane#1 staff told me that this drill will make the Tsunami read the mid lane really nice

I don't know now if that 5% longer & 5% more backend is true. I just checked lane one site & it says, lowered mini nuggets to get a better midlane read. That would be just the opposite of going longer wouldn't it?

Sawuser, that is exactly why I was confused.  I have one on order now, so I hope it turns out to fit where I want it to... above my Uranium Pearl, and hopefully above the Dirty Bomb as well.
