While this is not a full on review of the ball I can give my initial impressions.
The Pink Panther is quite the ball. I drilled mine up 40 x 5-1/2 x 45. Due to the low starting top wt (2 oz) and the long pin (4") I didn''t need a weighthole. Statics ended up being 7/8 side, 1/8 finger and 1 oz bottom.
Out of the box this ball is just flat out too much ball for a house condition. I have tried it on both wood (top hat pattern, 55 units in the center tapering to 15 at 10 and then dropping significantly outside that) and on synthetics (similar top hat pattern with obviously less oil in the center due to them being synthetics but the outsides are just as dry.)
The ball got through the heads well enough on both shots but the midlane read and subsequent backend were just incredible. Normally Lane 1 balls have done one or the other...either they read the midlane well (Big Curve, Uranium solid, G Force Nebula, BuzzBomb) or they have big backends (G Force Evolution, SuperNova XP, Curve, Blue Death, Time Bomb) but this ball is a little of both. The midlane is not as strong as the Big Curve and the backend is not like the Time Bomb but overall this ball is VERY impressive.
I did not stick with the ball through practice since my teams needed me to put up some decent numbers. I am going to practice some more with Pinky this week and will most likely get out the 4000 grit Abralons and Secret Sauce to get the ball down the lane further before it starts up.
More to follow.
