Buzzbomb layout questions/comments..
« on: February 11, 2008, 11:24:16 PM »
I have a couple of these on the way and since I am a high tracker was thinking of doing one pin above the ring with the cg in the palm area and 1 pin beside the ring with the cg kicked out.

My question is does anyone have one of these balls drilled up either one of these ways and if so, how do you like it.. Any pros and cons to either drilling?

thanks in advance..

I to have a Buzzbomb i am waitng to drill, I emailed Richie and he said that the pin next to or slightly lower to ring with CG kicked out left is the strongesdt layout on the Buzzbomb, don't know why but thats what he told me. Said it was good for oil and deep inside angles.

Thats probablyt how I am going to drilkl mine or drill it stacked 4x4. Still unsure.

A label drill he said will be longer weith a little more backend then the others.

I have pin over ring and cg below, this will be the strongest ball you have including your resurgence. I am going to polish the piss out of my ball just to see how it works then, i have to say it is stupidly strong it goes left when it hits dry board's miss left and pay the piper.

The flare i am getting is between 6-7 inches and that is with me not even hitting the ball on the upswing. I thought it was more Richie hype but i have to say he got this one right.

Would this layout be pretty close to being a label layout?

Thanks

my bad, I meant CG kicked out right. He told me to lay it out 4 3/4 x 3 3/8 to get the strongest reaction for the BuzzBomb

I have a BuzzBomb already drilled as well does my proshop guy mine is drilled stacked pin to the right and down about 1.5" pin is 2-3" with 3/8 thumb weight also oob finish I roll about 16-17 mph and my rev rate is about 290 I can play as deep as 30 with my feet and out to 5 and still get back to the pocket (wood lanes with ok amount of oil not flooded but they are beatup) now my pro shop guy throws at least 21mph and his rev rate has to be 400 or more he has his drilled up cg out and let me tell u this ball flat out gets it he starts about 25 out to 5 and holy sh** it comes crashing back to the pocket pins everywhere so there is my 2 cents hope it helps

I have mine drilled just above ring cg kicked out at 45deg. it is 15lbs. 13 1/4oz. after drilling with 15/16oz side weight, 1/4 oz finger, 1/8 oz thumb, and just a tad bottom, and no weight hole for now. It came with a 3-4" pin and 3.5oz top. I have a med to lower rev rate and normally throw at 16.5-17.5 mph at the pins, but can get down to 15.0mph or up to 19.0mph comfortably. I have shot four series now (my average is between 199-207 depending on the league)604, 605, 674,726. This ball is amazingly strong and versitile I can pipe it up 8-10 board with speed or swing it out with lower speed and it just crushes, with this layout it tends to go fairly long then say's left turn RIGHT NOW! When I say it goes fairly long it actually is reading the midlane and is moving but when it reaches the end of the pattern it just rolls over and gives the appearance of picking up revs and knifing into the pocket with great continuation. I hope this helps.

oops sorry strike the thumbweight, took all these numbers off my drill card and there are several balls on that one guess I need to clean up my notes.

Well i am reading the other threads about lack of hook, i put rough buff on top of box. Here is my results it made the following balls look tame compared to it;

Ultra Zone 4 inch pin to pap next to ring, mb in the 4 1/2 area to pap this bal picked up the mids well and just arcs nice to the pocket rarely did it not strike. Reminds me of the impulse zone from a few years ago, i like this ball alot and would recommend it highly already.

Nsanelevrg pin under bridge 5 inch pin to pap, mb 4 3/4 to pap ball picks up the mids well does hook ok nothing to write home about. At least 7-8 boards less hook through the whole lane, carry is above average liked it alot though.

Kinetic Energy drilled 5 inch pin to pap with pin over the ring about 1 inch, mb in the 4 1/2 to pap range. Ball likes to played from the outside and backends very well carry is very good, this ball is more control than the first Kinetic which is better imo.

Complete NV pin under ring 4 1/2 pin to pap, mb right at 5 inch area ball is pretty smooth it continues the whole compared to pin up complete which is much more violent off the dry.

Elite Black Label pin over ring cg below 4 3/4 pin to pap, ball goes long and flips over honestly never could figure this ball out. I do not think it is even close to either BW solid i own, it flips but more like a shift does for me. Not impressive carry and hard as heck to get lined up, it might be better with inside out line but my up the boards style this ball is a dog.

Now onto the Buzzbomb this ball let me move inside and the flip i got was more than any other ball out there today. Carry is superb the reaction was automatic that is was going to make the same motion shot after shot. I highly prefer the rough buff finish flares over 6 inches and easily stronger in mids and backs then the other contenders.

Only the Black Label was a letdown every other ball rolled true, i will retry the black label again sunday morning and try it against a different lineup.
