hrg success
« on: April 04, 2009, 07:48:48 PM »
just wondering if many peoplem have had success with their uranium hrg.....i purchased a nib 1 to 2  inch pin drilled it pin under ring with cg at 45 degrees. i find the pocket easily with a late smooth transition to the pocket but was leaving alot of 10 pins.....today on the carrydown sunday afternoon i rolled 12 practice games and pulled out the hrg, smashing 9 straight, then starting the next game with 3 more [ouch]...........is this ball more for carry down,or is there a cover change to be made for better carry on squeeky clean backends......thanks guys and gals

g'day mate

lite
med-lite conditions are good for this ball imo

mine was drilled label, and I don't find much success w/ cg out layouts myself.

hrg is a killer, and you 12 in a row
next time just do it in the same game

The HRG was Lane 1's last true attempt at a light oil ball. The ball worked very well as long as there was enough dry on the backend to give it the drive off the corner.

The cover was pretty stiff and the core loped more than normal so it definitely doesn't like carrydown or much oil in general.

Save the ball for when the lanes dry out and everything else is hooking off the lane.

I have one and it's stronger than my G-Force Evolution.

I hope the Chainsaw will handle lighter oil than my HRG -- otherwise, the Chainsaw will be useless to me once I get it. My HRG is on the medium side of medium-dry. I found it to  be stronger than advertised.

It isn't as oil-allergic as the Evolution, unless the oil in question is in the form of carrydown. This ball hates carrydown and will hit weakly if it encounters it.
