A question on this Buzzbomb ball.....All the talk I read in this forum talks about it being a big hooker, biggest hoker yet, hooks more than the Super Carbide Bomb and etc.

I haven't read anywhere (maybe I missed it) exactly what conditions this ball was intended for. Is it for heavy oil or medium-heavy or what? I hardly ever see anything heavier than medium any more, so I don't need an oil ball by any means.

For medium oil, I have an EU that is good on a fresh shot, but runs and hides when there is carry down, a Solid Cobalt Bomb that seems to excell on carry down, and a Brunswick Twisted Fury with a core similar to a Lane 1 core that does a bit of what both the EU and Solid Cobalt do.....To sum it up, can anyone tell me if this BB would even be of any benefit to me at all on the conditions I bowl on? I like Lane 1 balls as their cores seem to match up to me better than other balls cores do for me, but don't want to spend $180 plus drilling, slug, and grips, it there is nothing to gain, but maybe something to lose by buying a BB.

if you have to get deep or you have carry down but the heads are holding decent, then yes jim this ball will fill a gap.  I use it pretty much exclusively now on house shots from 37 ft to 41 feet with varying units of oil, I have no problem getting back, when others start to squirt on oil, I have no issues at all.

I dont say this lightly as I have shot great sets with most every lane 1 ball, But this IS the best ball I have ever thrown from the boys in syracuse.  I think the make good stuff that matches my game to a tee but, this ball is awesome,

Brick,
I am going to throw mine tonight on what I would consider a medium THS on synthetics with dry outsides. There is enough oil in the middle where you can swing strong equipment, and enough dry on the outside that you can play as weak a ball as you are comfortable with (even plastic). I expect I will have to play deeper than I am used to (with the Buzzbomb).

I threw on the same pattern last night after a 5-man league had bowled 3 games. There was still plenty of oil in the center to swing the Buzzbomb, and it just kept asking for more. The ball recovered from just about anywhere and still had some punch when it got to the hole. This is the first ball I have tried a Rico drill on, and I am very happy with it so far. I can only imagine what this ball would do with a more agressive layout.

I have another one coming, and I plan to go with a longer layout and polish. Speaking of polish, that is a good backup plan if you find the Buzzbomb to be a little too strong for your shot. Again, I have not done this YET, but if you can give me a few days I can report back with my personal experience with both balls on a few different lane conditions.

Trigger, that would be a problem for me. If you will note in my profile, I can't play deep.

I think what Trig is saying Brick is that the ball will allow you to play deep, as IT will do the work.  I cannot wait for mine, and from talking with Chuck, I may get another with a longer pin and drill it medium with polish.

Saw Mill, you don't know how much I wish I had the speed/revs, especially the revs of many of you guys, but I simply don't have them. If you will read my profile, you will note that I say
quote:
I don't play deep and "open up the lanes" very well because of my low revs

Comfort zone approximately the 10 to 12 boards, sometimes straight down the lanes and other times swung out to the 5-6 boards

Note....I don't have a "lot of hand" when releasing the ball

I think what many people fail to understand is that we guys whom have low revs, don't have enough revs to keep the ball going after it turns the corner and tries to head to the pocket from a deep angle after hitting the dry. Kind of like if you haven't been there, it may be hard to understand. That is why we have to play more to the outside or straight up the boards or similar angles, and etc.
