Buzzbomb vs Super Carbide Bomb
« on: February 11, 2008, 01:24:19 AM »
Hi, sorry for more Buzzbomb question.

I haven't read a bad review yet on Buzzbomb, but is the ball designed to do what Super Carbide Bomb does so well? i.e. True heavy oil and on heavy carry down lanes?

Or are they two different animals?

If a Super Carbide Bomb is drilled for early roll and same for Buzzbomb, how would they compare?

I'm not looking for something that would give me crazy backends, just something that rolls properly in heavy oil and heavy carry down.

Many thanks!

Well I know that the SCB starts rolling right off your hand so its consistantly hooking throughout the lane which makes it a very good ball on the heavy stuff and the carry down. From having the ball the SCB needs ALOT of head oil to conserve energy for the backend. Im not to sure about the Buzzbomb though but I would think they would be something similar but I do believe the SCB is the stronger ball of the two. I think the Buzzbomb is also an early rolling ball but not like the SCB. You should be able to get more lenght out of the Buzzbomb. Plus the SCB has a higher partical load.

weeeeellllll .... one could imagine the buzzbomb ... add some particles .... SiC (siliconcarbide) maybe ....
Call it the Super Carbide Buzzbomb

But hey I don't dare to imagine how much oil would be needed

It doesn't matter...just keep making the balls stronger, and the bowlers will keep buying them. Then they will complain the balls are rolling out and the centers will put out more oil. Then the companies will make more aggressive equipment again. The cycle continues.

nope... not here

The center I bowl at lays down a lot of oil for house league and official league but not a real heavy shot! My Tsunami and/or Machine and even my H2O are strong enough...

... it is still a THS

Anything will work here ... just playing around with some thoughts...

Used my B bomb for a complete 3 games....fresh oil on house shot..i usually hoof the ball up the 8 board..wow..241 242 246 for a 729 series.......i played around with the finish when i first drilled the ball but went back to a 1000 grit. Ball is drilled pin to the right of ring finger, cg kicked out...

the big difference with this ball is it never stops rolling at the pins..i thought the ball was gonna go through the back wall....i have never seen the pins react as they did..it hit so hard folk were looking over to see what the hell i was throwing.....will be using it on a heavier oil pattern on thursday, but hopefully will get the same results....for me, it has a stronger engine that the carbide bomb...

The BuzzBomb is flat out awesome. I had been struggling lately with the weaker balls I had in my arsenal so I decided to drill my BuzzBomb for a little more length than normal and add a little bit of polish. Wow...what an awesome pipece

My last 5 sets have been 640, 680, 676, 663, 702 with only 1 game under 200.

This is unheard of for me...I am a solid 190 bowler but that is about it.

Just a flat out awesome ball.

I used it today on a fresh house shot maybe medium heavy at first, i must say it is lot stronger than i thought it would be. I could not keep it right of the head pin in box finish, i think polish might be the answer to even use this ball at all on a house shot.

From my discussions with Chuck (as I have not received my BB yet), is that ball to ball comparison with the SCB leaves the BB as equal a ball can be for not being a particle ball.  I was told that even with my speed, I would probably take my SCB and polish it for lesser oily conditions.  I will report when I get mine and have Sharon drill it for me.

Hey Scottie, do you think the house will lay out a heavy oil sport shot to compare the 2 balls on?
