Buzzbomb success
« on: February 17, 2008, 02:31:45 AM »
I just got my "Buzzbomb" 4 days ago and I have already had success with this ball.  I bowled well in my league on Thursday night and on Saturday I bowled in my local association Match games tournament.  Since I am a senior bowler I bowled in the senior division. I went on to win the senior division using the "Buzzbomb".  They put a tough shot down and the scores were relatively low in each division.  The "Buzzbomb" had no problem cutting through the oil and gave me a strong backend reaction.  Score one for the "Buzzbomb".

srbowler,

Let us know the ball layout, the oil pattern and target line that you played.

Roger, I'm not sure of the exact oil pattern.  If you went outside of 8 it wasn't coming back.  The 1st 5 games I went straight up 10 with a nice backend move to the pocket.  The last 3 games I played 15 out to 10 with a the same  hard move to the pocket.  My pin is centered above my fingers with the cg directly below the pin.  I was told this is a weaker drill pattern so the ball won't burnout going through the heads.  In my league I was able to play 15 out to 5 all night.

I too have been bowling exceptionally well with my BuzzBomb. I had been struggling with my other equipment...SuperNova XP, Special Agent, Nebula, Evolution, Tsunami, Hole Pounder Pearl.

I had not shot 600 in over 6 weeks....then I drilled the BuzzBomb.

625, 640, 676, 680, 707, 663, 615....that's a 219 average for my last 7 sets

My regular average? 196

The ball works.....

Oh yeah...layout? http://dougsproshop.net/images/MyArsenal/buzzbomb2.jpg basically 5x4 for me.

Doug, after looking at the picture of your Buzzbomb it looks like you polished your ball.  Is this correct?  If so, how do you compare this ball reaction to that of the OOB condition?  Thanks for any info.

Yes I did polish my ball. OOB condition was WAYYYYYY too early for our lanes.

The ball literally rolled at around 20 feet and puked at 35 feet. The surface was WAYY too much.

I hit the cover with a 1000 grit Abralon and added a light coat of Track Magic Shine. I did this the very first day I drilled the ball. Ever since I have done nothing but clean the ball every 3 games with Clean N Dull on my spinner.
