buzzbomb mini-review
« on: May 08, 2008, 11:21:07 AM »
just arrived today and i drilled it up..

http://h1.ripway.com/longlip/buzzbomb.JPG

first impression..i love it...only used on broke down ugly house shot..they didnt run them today..the ball was strong mid-lane with continous  backend...only threw it about 30 times but struck 25 of them..never leaving a single pin..if i didnt strike it was because i threw it bad...i will get to see what it does on the shark tomorrow and will update...so far i dont see what people are talking about with the ball not hooking and hitting..mine is a monster...for the static wt freaks it has 1/2 oz thumb and 1.2 oz of side(will put wt hole in tonight to correct the side wt issue)

I guess when you score well with a Lane 1 ball you really know how to throw the ball correctly, but the same bowler throws a Lane 1 ball that doesn't live up to all its hype, you don't know how to throw a ball correctly.  Is that what I was suppose to believe.  I throw a 300 with the Tsunami so thats great, I get a bad ball from Lane 1 and post that experience and all of a sudden I can't throw a ball correctly.

you must have got one of the few good carbide +s...i have one and it does nothing for me or anyone else who has thrown it...ive actually heard more bad things about carbide + than most other lane1 balls...my buzzbomb out hooks  my carbide + by a good 7 boards..though i plug the wt hole in my carbide + and move it as suggested by Beans and shot 801 with it...

The Carbide Plus in my eyes was a condition specific piece because of the larger particle load. I also see that in the Buzzbomb for some players out of the box. Once they find the surface that works best they really fall in love with the ball. If there is a bad layout choice and cover prep that will really make a customer unhappy. I am just glad Lane#1 was able to make sure our customers like Nicanor were happy.

Customer service of Lane#1....

Gotta love it!!

I don't believe that was the case at all with the C+. Mine had very little flare, and the bowtie was way below where it should have been. Plugged and redrilled with a completely different layout, same thing. Contacted Lane #1 and they were willing to replace it. I never got around to sending the ball in, so that is my fault. However, I sincerely believe the ball was grossly mismarked, and I know other users experienced similar problems around the same time with the C+. The Tsunami was another ball that was of questionable quality. Same deal. Some loved it, some hated it. There was also talk of a bad run of those. Who knows.

Must agree with the mismarked C+ (seeing that i own 3 of them).  The one i just used at state tourney today I bought NIB, but had to redrill cause ball flared bad over fingers with my normal drill.  But this baby is a beast Now!  Covers 5-7 more boards than my BB on same condition.  Hey, at least i'm honest.

That must have been one of those re-worked Brunswick jobs with the mis-marked pin. =:^D

Must have been one of those re-worked jobs by Brunswick where they tried to make a short pin look like a longer pin. =:^D
