Carbide Plus HELP
« on: October 21, 2006, 12:26:31 AM »
I picked up a Carbide Plus awhile back, and it's pin under the fingers. So far with that drilling, I feel like I'm not using that ball to it's full potential. I'm looking for some suggestions on it cause I'm considering plugging it.

My Solid Uranium is pin over the ring, cg right of center, w/a weight hole. I've got it polished also. Would the Carb+ with that same drilling, at 600 grit surface be a good compliment to it?

Open for any suggestions! Thanks!

What's the deal with the Carbide Plus..? Is there something you don't like about it..?

I think the C+ will be very similar to the Solid U with the same drilling, but cut through the oil better. Personally, I'd dull the solid Uranium and shine the Carbide Plus. =:^D

Take the polish off, so it can work better; try rgar before you plug and re-drill.  I sanded mine to 600, and i have higher speed and revs, but then again I use mine on medium to medium light.

Right now it's more a straight up the boards ball, for it's best reaction. I can move around with it, but wondered if it'd serve a better purpose with a stronger drilling on it.

I'd agree with similiar drillings at 600 grit they would be the same, your pin under fingers carbide plus, where is the cg at?  do you have a balance hole in it?  If not I would suggest a flare increasing hole roughly 2" past your pap on this should increase flare which should make the ball stronger on the midlane, because the pin is below fingers you may need to play with the location of this hole to make the ball legal

Pin is stacked, weight hole right of thumb to increase the backend. I may try some 3M finesse on it and see how it does.

isnt a weight hole in the thumb quad to reduce thumb weight, and add finger weight to increase length, thus reducing flare?  my guess isthe ball is doing what it is drilled for unfortunately, you maybe down to a plug and redrill
