Author Topic: CG marking on Enriched Uranium (Read 3558 times)

I have a question for all you sawheads. I received my EU from Doug Sterner yesterday and was curious about something. On all the other Lane 1 balls I have drilled up, the CG was always in the area of the lane 1 logo..

On this EU, the pin was above the Lane 1 logo about 1 inch but the cg mark (a punch mark in yellow) was down and under the logo about 3 inches. There was no punch mark inside the lane 1 logo where most of the cg's are located.. The box said 3-4 inch pin..

Anyone else seen the cg located outside the lane 1 logo or did I get a bad ball??

I've had it happen. Make sure to measure it though. The couple I have gotten like that have been mismarked.

Measure what? I had it drilled last night and my driller checked the side weight and it was 3/4 oz, which is legal. I also didn't notice anything weird about the way the ball rolled..

I didn't realized you had already punched it up. If it's legal and all, wouldn't worry about it. From experience the couple I have had like that have been mismarked, but that may not be the case in your situation. I am sure it can happen.

my viper remake has a .5"-1" pin so its WAYYYYYY outside the core logo.

the newer balls cg position is about 95% spot on.,..with the older balls ,the cg mark could be way off..its not always withing the diamond logo.....check the cg before drilling, so you have it exactly..on lane#1's web site they explain how to do this, but any good ball driller would double check the cg anyway when he is laying out the ball...

Its already drilled amd seems to react OK on the lanes so I am sure its OK. I guess I just got one of the omes where the cg is not located within the logo..

On my EU, the CG is just outside the logo on the left side. Nothing to worry about, as long as its legal after the drilling.

The punch marks are the CG.....Not the label. They are 90% right on. BUT, You think for the money they charge us for these balls that Big B would at least label them better. beans

My EU came with a cluster of CG puches (4 of them) all around the middle of the diamond?? Looks like someone/machine got a little punch happy. I also requested a longer pin from a poster/seller on this board and got a shorter 1& 5/8" that I wasn't too happy about.
