CG Marking on Lane #1 Balls???
« on: November 29, 2004, 12:50:18 PM »
Are all Lane #1 balls marked with the CG on the Buzzsaw label?  Wondering???

Have an XXL with nothing on the Buzzsaw label and CG point prick like Brunswick likes to do on the Lane #1* label.  Make sense?

Thanks,
Scott

Yeah, some are marked with Brunswick's trademark cg point, some aren't.  If it isn't, the cg is USUALLY somewhere in the small core picture logo.

Howdy Ham,

The "newer" buzzsaws have their cg's marked. The older ones were not marked. Go figure.

Take care,   Jeff

This is true with the older buzzsaws, The newer are marked inthe diamond label.

But I am surprised that the xxl doesnt have it in the label. makes me wonder cause mine has it in the label.

MR Fonz, you are correct (I forgot about those). The Carbide's, Blueberry's and XL's (and others from that time period) were not. My mistake...

Take care,   Jeff

Personally, I liked it better when they didn't mark the CG.  It made the driller weigh the ball out.  Wasn't any chance of the CG being mismarked.  Lane 1 has a good diagram on how to find the CG, really simple.

We have a Cranberry in the shop that has the cg marked down and to the right of the core picture logo, that's the only one I've seen where the cg marker hasn't been inside it.

Doesn't matter where the punch mark is, or if there is one.  You should ALWAYS weigh the ball up to find the CG.  I've had at least one 'Saw with a slightly off marked CG.  Only takes a few minutes to weight it out and then you're sure.

it has the cg further than the pin from grip center yes...it was given to me from noel vazquez(along with about 16 others) since he was moving to sacramento(4 hours away)..that is the ring finger hole at the top of the picture

mine has only had the fingers and thumb moved less than a .25 inch once andthe weight hole moved a .5 inch once.  The reaction you talk about is true, the only thing i dont like about this ball is since i loft the ball a bit it gets a bunch of phasing(whitish, grayish) marking on where the ball makes contact.
