chainsaw layout
« on: January 20, 2009, 11:45:43 PM »
how did you lay out your chainsaw
i don't have any idea how to lay mine out
stacked drill has always worked good for me in the past, but this core is a little different for this ball

so im looking for your suggestions / ideas / actual layouts you have

thanks

i would definetly stay away from the label drilling. IMO its the worst drill you can put on a Lane 1 ball i would go with a stacked leverage drill they have always been money for me good luck with your new toy lol

Maybe it's better to say that label doesn't work for you.... I have found great success with label drill on many lane #1 balls (Enriched Uranium, BCB, Pearl Uranium,Super Carbide Bomb, Carbide Plus, Evolution) i have all these balls drilled label and they work great!  The only L#1 ball i drilled label and didn't like was the Buzzbomb. With that said, i'm going to drill my CS Stacked

Label sucks?  Yikes bd.... Sounds like you're being tainted by others...
As I said in other forums before, label is better for people with more hand....it may not work for everyone, but in my experience, it works very well for MOST!  Try a label layout with the pin 2" from your PAP....you won't believe the control and reaction you get with this layout.....Hmmmmm, sure sounds like everyone just likes stacked and CG out because it gives them more HOOK!  Let's start putting our hand in the ball, people!  Then you'll appreciate the versatility of "label"........

I think there is a little misunderstanding of what exactly is meant by "label."

The traditional label drill has the cg in the midlde of the grip (or close by) and the pin just outside the ring finger.

The suggestion of 2" pin to PAP is not what's typically considered as a label drill. There is a possibility that the 2" pin to PAP could indeed make a label drill if the bowler's PAP is closer to the grip than most.

My experience has been that label drilled Buzzsaws tend to like to be rolled as opposed to being thrown...aka strokers prefer the label layouts more than the guys with the big hand.

Again...just my experience...not an absolute answer or anything ...just some experience.

ok so the debate rages on
i have very limited time w/ a label drill, and my hand was not in it
so i won't give up yet

learning to roll instead of chuck / throw
may have some affect on my game.........lol
