how did you lay out your chainsaw
i don't have any idea how to lay mine out
stacked drill has always worked good for me in the past, but this core is a little different for this ball
so im looking for your suggestions / ideas / actual layouts you have
thanks

How exactly do you want the ball to react? Anything pin up will keep the ball pretty staight!

thats a good question
this ball is supposed to be for dry lanes, and i primarily want it for that i.e. 3rd game in a set, and tourneys
its going to have a 2" pin and 3 Oz. of top
me
16-17 mph
300 +/- RR
5 & 3/8 ^ PAP
i know its not going to be a big mover, but i want consistency, and control

I drilled mine (4" pin) with the pin above the ring and the CG stacked below. To be honest, I don't really like this ball. Maybe it's the drilling, but for me the ball is erratic on the backend and leaves a lot of corners.

yikes
dont want that

Dont let this ball fool you. It is very clean throught the front of the lane but when it catches dry it moves quite a bit. I punched mine pin over ring with CG kicked out a little. It ended with around 1/2 finger and 1/2 side. Very smooth but covers some boards when hits dry.

From what I've seen, I would go with a CG out or a Label 1:30. =:^D
-
Anything but Label.. LOL

Smooth + control = 5x3 (CG out)
Little more Power = Stacked
I went with Stacked...

thanks for the input fellas, but i fear you will be hearing more from me
i had my session w/ Ron Clifton today, and he's teaching me how to bowl more correctly, and by doing so my specs/ stats have changed dramatically
my speed and revs are WAYYYYYYYYYY up from what i listed
i was amazed how much I changed just during our short time together
its like i got a new toy
my pap changed, my axis tilt changed, easy 2-3 more mph, and i venture to say im about 400 rr now
i really dont know how much layouts play a role in the grand scheme of things or im just making much a do about nothing
been a long day sorry to bable
balls coming off my hand like a scalded dawg

I have my Chainsaw drilled pin under ring with cg kicked out 45* skinny deep weighthole on my VAL.
The ball is super rolly and still carries the 10....I love it but think I am going to drill another pin up for more length.

my ball is only got a 2" pin, and 3 oz TW
i have not had luck w/ a cg out layout before, but that could be different now
i also have never tried using a label drill
although i just punched my HRG label i have not used it yet to see the reaction
all i want is a consistent and controllable ball that has lenght
rest is up to me.........lol

Have mine drilled stacked, very predictable roll. Like stated above, when she hits dry she likes to move, but still controllable. I still have OOB finish, which seems tacky for a dry lane ball....

If you want to tame the erratic rection you should knock the shine off it. Try 1000 or 2000 grit.. Just enough for some traction and smoother finish.

i would definetly stay away from the label drilling. IMO its the worst drill you can put on a Lane 1 ball i would go with a stacked leverage drill they have always been money for me good luck with your new toy lol

Maybe it's better to say that label doesn't work for you.... I have found great success with label drill on many lane #1 balls (Enriched Uranium, BCB, Pearl Uranium,Super Carbide Bomb, Carbide Plus, Evolution) i have all these balls drilled label and they work great! The only L#1 ball i drilled label and didn't like was the Buzzbomb. With that said, i'm going to drill my CS Stacked

Label sucks? Yikes bd....
Sounds like you're being tainted by others...
As I said in other forums before, label is better for people with more hand....it may not work for everyone, but in my experience, it works very well for MOST! Try a label layout with the pin 2" from your PAP....you won't believe the control and reaction you get with this layout.....Hmmmmm, sure sounds like everyone just likes stacked and CG out because it gives them more HOOK!
Let's start putting our hand in the ball, people! Then you'll appreciate the versatility of "label"........

I think there is a little misunderstanding of what exactly is meant by "label."
The traditional label drill has the cg in the midlde of the grip (or close by) and the pin just outside the ring finger.
The suggestion of 2" pin to PAP is not what's typically considered as a label drill. There is a possibility that the 2" pin to PAP could indeed make a label drill if the bowler's PAP is closer to the grip than most.
My experience has been that label drilled Buzzsaws tend to like to be rolled as opposed to being thrown...aka strokers prefer the label layouts more than the guys with the big hand.
Again...just my experience...not an absolute answer or anything ...just some experience.

ok so the debate rages on
i have very limited time w/ a label drill, and my hand was not in it
so i won't give up yet
learning to roll instead of chuck / throw
may have some affect on my game.........lol

Stacked worked great for me, with a backend still.......
Very Predictable roll....
