From the graphics I've seen the old core appears to be bigger and had the little diamond nugget in the center of the core. The Massacre core looks smaller and has no central nugget.
My question now is....what is the weight of the core used in the Dirty Bomb & Solid Cobalt and what is the weight of the Core in the Chainsaw Masacare?....can anyone help on my question here?

Im pretty sure the flip block isn't high density. i think its normal density. the diff. is only something like .038

Our local leagues have a bunch of guys throwing Cobalt Pearls. I've never asked but I would assume that was the result of a sales or giveaway special at some point (we had the same thing last summer with Hammer Black Widow Pearls and now half my Tuesday league has one). Anyway, yes, that's an angular ball for a lot of people of differing styles.
So that makes the principal difference the coverstock. Given that the original Cobalt Pearl was a Brunswick pour and this is a 900Global pour, the Massacre being more angular is a logical supposition. Pretty much all the post-Brunswick balls have been more angular than the Brunswick-era balls (and sometimes that's not a good thing).
Given how much trouble I tend to have with the Bomb series (too angular/uncontrollable for me), adding an even more angular coverstock to the mix probably wouldn't help. I dropped this ball down my to-buy list after seeing the core.
