What is the difference between the Dirty Bomb Core used in the Solid Cobalt and the core used in the new Chainsaw Massacare? On the pictures of the outside of the 2 cores, they look the same to me, but have different names.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the graphics I've seen the old core appears to be bigger and had the little diamond nugget in the center of the core. The Massacre core looks smaller and has no central nugget.
My question now is....what is the weight of the core used in the Dirty Bomb & Solid Cobalt and what is the weight of the Core in the Chainsaw Masacare?....can anyone help on my question here?

not really sure on the weight of the 2 cores but i am guessing that they are pretty close to the same. the old cores in the bomb series are bigger but they also have one side hollowed out to place the mini nugget inside it. but with the new core nothing has been hollwed out cause it doesnt have the mini nugget. so that is why i am thinking they weigh roughly the same. i have both the colbat bomb pearl and the massacre drilled exactly the same and the massacre is more angular. if you are thinking about buying a massacre do it you wont be dissappointed

Not sure about the weight but they took out the nugget to decrease the weight and thus letting you have .073365 more side weight to keep the CG in a strong postion so it provides 20% better carry on light hits.

The Dirty Bomb core had a mini nugget in the middle of the core with the bottom of the core cut off and a high density flip block added. The Cobalt Bomb core was the Dirty Bomb core turned upside down to create a skid flip affect. The MassaCore in the Massacre doesn't have a mini nugget but does have a high density flip block on the bottom of the core thus creating a reaction like the Cobalt Bomb but with a different cover added the Massacre compared to the Cobalt is more angular and also reads the mid lane a little quicker.
Hope this helps Brickguy221.
Nice answer kidjete brickguy was just looking for a simple answer not your nonsense.

Right 2 different covers Inverted minus the mini nugget which is in the Colbalt your solid is pretty angular because it's polished I would assume. I personally love polished solids. You can create so much with aggressive dull balls that are polished.

Telling someone to prove an argument like that wrong is ridiculous. If anything needs to be proven it is your argument. The biggest factor in carry is....entry angle. A certain shaped core will not create the same entry angle for everyone. Therefore, your argument may be true for one person and may be completely false for another person. Either way it is a ridiculous argument that there is no concrete proof either way.

Im pretty sure the flip block isn't high density. i think its normal density. the diff. is only something like .038

the ad calls it a 4 peice ball, cover, filler, core, flip block. i believe they are different densities, maybe not huge but if they were the same they could make this ball 3 peice as the core would be one peice the picture depicts it as a darker color just like the bomb cores do

By that logic, its the Cobalt Pearl pretty angular? I have the solid and in a polished state, it's pretty angular for a solid..
So the only difference in the two is the cover stock??

Keep looking... I'm sure there's a 300 in one of those balls you keep buying!!

Our local leagues have a bunch of guys throwing Cobalt Pearls. I've never asked but I would assume that was the result of a sales or giveaway special at some point (we had the same thing last summer with Hammer Black Widow Pearls and now half my Tuesday league has one). Anyway, yes, that's an angular ball for a lot of people of differing styles.
So that makes the principal difference the coverstock. Given that the original Cobalt Pearl was a Brunswick pour and this is a 900Global pour, the Massacre being more angular is a logical supposition. Pretty much all the post-Brunswick balls have been more angular than the Brunswick-era balls (and sometimes that's not a good thing).
Given how much trouble I tend to have with the Bomb series (too angular/uncontrollable for me), adding an even more angular coverstock to the mix probably wouldn't help. I dropped this ball down my to-buy list after seeing the core.
