chainsaw massacre
« on: April 22, 2009, 02:19:01 AM »
OK, I heard back from Lane 1, and they suggested the Chainsaw Massacre.  The numbers are close, so it looks like it might be what I want, but has anyone thrown it yet?  If so, what's it like?

i just punched mine last night, long and very angular on the back, great length and very pronounced move on the back, drilled it 45 x 5" by 50 resulted in pin in bridge, cg out slightly.  loved the look on the lane and the move it makes, i dont think it is as snappy as the SD but is close

Thanks Trig.  That layout is very close to my old Silver and is what I'm going to use on this beast when I get one.  The only difference in layout is I intend to put the CG on the line from pin to PAP, midway between.  This sounds exactly like what I want.

I havent seen any reading on the massacare, is it a pearlized version of the chainsaw, or different core?

What is the difference between the Dirty Bomb Core used in the Solid Cobalt and the core used in the new Chainsaw Massacare? On the pictures of the outside of the 2 cores, they look the same to me, but have different names.

From the graphics I've seen the old core appears to be bigger and had the little diamond nugget in the center of the core.  The Massacre core looks smaller and has no central nugget.

Save money and buy an Emerlad Vibe.  My buddy has both and we can't see a difference worth mentioning.

Excuse me sir?  I made an honest statement on how i feel about the Massacre and this?  I've promoted the massacre more than Lane #1 and i believe it's the best ball they've made this year... Larry i hope you have a great night and congratulations on your 700 with the massacre and i'm sure there's more to come... keep us posted, God Bless!

Setting here at the Sahara in Las Vegas waiting to bowl team event at 2:30pm. Will be using my Massacre. It's drilled 5 x 3 the CG kicked out 2". I when to the Cashman Center yesterday morning and watched 2 sets of singles & doubles (12 games). Every person that shot good in the area I was at (lanes 55 - 60)
was use using a break point at 9-8 boards whit a polished ball. Don't know where the teams shot. Guess I'll find out at 2:30pm. My game plan today is start off with my new Virtual Gravity (needed a asymmetrical ball) followed up by my Massacre. Will let you know what happens.

According to BTM's review of the Massacre, Lane#1's tooting its own horn aagain, but no one else is.

BTM's "numbers":

RG           3.4
Diff/Flare   5.8
Torque       6.5
Length       16
Back End     15.5
Total Hook   46

Ratings:
Oily   4/5/5
Medium 8.5/9/9
Dry    8/8/8.5
Sport  4/4/4
