Difference in reaction in new drilling on EU
« on: February 02, 2006, 01:18:57 AM »
I drilled my EU with the pin above the ring finger about an inch and the CG directly below 3 inches.  I plugged the fingers and moved the pin about an inch to the right of the ring finger now almost even which would put the MB if marked approximately below the thumb.

The reason I am attempting this drilling was because the drilling I had first was a go long and hook hard drilling.  The backend of the EU was tremendous but I didn't want another go long ball since I have the H2O and the Tsunami.

My hope was to have the ball read the mid lane a little more and work better as a med/heavy controllable ball then a skid snap ball as drilled previously.

Did I go in the right direction?

Thank you.

Sounds about right. I'm not a drilling guru, but I have used this set up and effectively you made the ball symmentrical by dropping the mass bias under the thumb with a medium strength drilling that should start reacting in the midlane.

Oh splendid! This calls for a sexy party!

the earlier the ball rolls, the less snap you will get .. it will become strong arc or more of a smooth arc

it is impossible to have a ball hooks early and snap ... for the ball to snap, the ball needs to save much energy for the backend  ... hence why you must have the length

if the drilling you mentioned (pin above the fingers and CG directly underneath it) which is 5x5 works great for you ... try 4x4 or 3-3/8x3-3/8

the ball (in general will react the same) .. the difference will be in the length .. 3-3/8 (strongest drill) will make the ball grap the lane very quick but with less snap than 5x5 which you plugged
