Cherry Bomb / Blueberry Reactions???
« on: October 20, 2003, 07:32:39 PM »
I have recently started tossing a Cherry Bomb (Pearl) and is the first Lane#1 ball I have ever thrown. So far I have mixed results with it. I have shot the lights out with it, and admittedly didn't put it away fast enough a couple of times... The ball is so strong that I sometimes can't get the length and/or projection that I need as it hits dry-hangs left, despite a few coats of polish.
I can tell though that this thing is a freak of nature with the force of which it hits. It will also be a very good ball for me on certain conditions. I am still deciding whether to keep it as is for tournys or try to tame it a little more for my normal league shot.
With all that being said.....I have a Blueberry on the way and I figure that I will make that more of a "league" ball and leave the CB for shots with plenty of oil and fairly clean back-ends. Do any of you have experience with both, say side by side with similar drillings? I am trying to figure out about how much stronger the CB is than the Blueberry. Also, if you have any suggestions as to the layout of a Blueberry It would be much appreciated. I really want a controllable reaction that clears the heads with ease (one house has Guardian).
