Anyone got any idea of a release date of this monster? Anyone taking pre-orders yet?

THey have not found a clear enough resolution to the ball yet.  They will not even hint as to when, as they are looking for the perfect clearness, so no pics yet, or at least not legal ones.

I didn't take pics of the one I saw, but I'm not sure it'd be legal anyways.

What I meant by legal was "official".  They have not yet been satisfied with the clarity of the ball.  From what I gathered, it is still a ways off down the road.

I know Dave, I was just saying I don't know if I would get in trouble by posting pictures of a product that hasn't been released.  And I heard it will be a few months before Ritchie finds the perfect clearness he wants.

I prefer not the exact clear version, I like the light blue clear coverstock that Track made for the sugar ray boxing glove ball. that should be cool on the diamond core.

I also prefer a little "tint." How about a red tint with a black diamond? That would be pimp.

not the information I heard on it, and my info came from Richie himself, more or less it is the size of the core that is an issue now

At the trade show I heard they were trying to find the perfect clearness.  I guess they did, and now ritchie has moved on to the next bullet in his list of "Things to make perfect otherwise I won't sell the ball"....

Don't you guys go starting anything now!! Got me feeling all insecure about all my big diamond block balls. I won't be able to sleep tonight worrying about USBC outlawing the size of the diamonds.

Why would the size of the core be an issue, shouldn't they just use the same core that they used on the black xxxl.

It's for looks.  They want a core size that will look the best for a see-through ball.

"its for the looks..."

...I figured Lane1(being the bad-azzed company they are) would have the sac to throw their full sized core in there. I can only guess itll end up being a 'mini' diamond. -YAWN- I dont know about you cats but for 250 clams, Id want the big one! LOL! j/k

Now, assuming they make the core smaller, how much will this effect the balls dynamics and/or ability to hook seeing how the cover is only plastique? Any? None?

I'm sure the reason they're looking for a smaller core, is the fact that clear ball make whatever is inside them to look a lot bigger. With that being said, I'm guessing that he wants the core just right, so when you look at it the diamond seems the normal size!

PS...if you want a clear ball that hooks, get an OPTYX Formula 1!
