COBALT QUESTION?
« on: March 31, 2006, 02:10:01 AM »
Ok guys, you have really tweaked my interest in this ball and now I need your help as to where it could fit in my arsenal?  I have a bunch of equipment today, but I am currently using really only the follow equipment:

Heavy Oil         - Paradigm Passion

Medium to Medium Heavy   - Paradigm

Medium Light         - Storm Barbed Wire

Spare Ball         - Old Columbia Yellow Dot

My question is do you think that I could use the Cobalt for Medium to Medium light conditions or less and if so, how would you recommend it being drilled?  From the various posts I have read, I get the feeling that the Cobalt and the original Paradigm might be kind of redundant together?  Thanks in advance for your input…

I initially wanted to go with the semi pin axis drilling but I don't think it quite came out the same as thought. Had to move the X hole away from the CG due to the ball not having enough Top weight.

First night: My scores don't really show it (220, 203, 213), I missed 3 Ten Pins . The shot was terrible, my 636 was the best on the pair with 4 210+ avg bowlers on the pair. Actually would have been a great shot for the XXXL. With this layout the ball definitely had a nice even arch. I'm sure it has to do with the cover but for what ever reason I was throwing this ball over a MPH faster then my Tsunami, and the ball seemed to rev much better. The Tsunami was definitely about 5 boards stronger and the Cobalt defiantly got through the heads much better. With my layout it's going to be a great ball for light oil, and should be very strong on medium conditions. Look out Tsunami, you may have a contender for my favorite ball...

The Paragimn really moves on fresh medium and even a little heavier conditions... its very snaplike on the back end.

However, the coverstock and core combo on the Cobalt will give you more length on medium to drier conditions, but the back end is really strong.

Because the Paragimns shell is soft and very aggressive, the Cobalt would be a nice go to ball when that thing is burning up early.

The Cobalt will get thru the lane cleaner than the Paradigm and have a bit more backend. That could mean it fits between the Paradigm and the Barbed Wire, or it could hook more, depending on how much backend there is. =:^D

T-God posted before me, so I will just say that I concur, and depart.

oh, and mine stacked under the ring is a force to be reconed with on the right shot. I found with the polish oob it needs clean backends, and if you have them its awesome, but if I dont then not so much, but I just break out the EU and keep on strikin. thats what its all about!
