Talk about throwing pins around. I dont think I've ever seen a ball hit and tear through the pocket as hard as that ball. Impressive to watch. Gotta start saving up.

Wikked video. Looks very similar to what I'm getting from my U-solid.
-
Great video and awesome music!!!!!!!!!!!! To me the best representation of the go long and flip capabilities of this were the shots from the inside from what appeared to be around the 4th arrow. You could see that pink thunb slug begin to turn and then simply flip over and the ball made a left hand turn through the pocket..........

Lane#1--nothing else hits like 'em.

Wow ... this ball looks amazing.
Anyone know when it's supposed to be released? Definately looking to try my first lane1 ball after seeing that video!
--------------------
It's fierce. It's you. It's Hammer. ROLL ON!
-
I have never thrown a lane 1 ball but this one just might be what I am looking for. I might have to try it.
-
Gotta say....would LOVE to see this ball in video in comparison to a couple of other Lane#1's to get a better idea of its motion. Sure it rolls great in the video(not like they are going to show it rolling like puke), but would REALLY be helpful to see it on the same lanes, at the same time against one or two other current Saws to get a better understanding of its true lane condition coverage. Does that make sense? Not knocking the ball or the video, just providing some (hopefully) constructive criticism. If I were pushing my latest ball, I would certainly make sure it was being compared in real time to some other known quantity in my line.

I am a fan of whatever ball is going to fatten my bank account.

I don't see the big backend flip that they are talking about. I see length with a smooth reaction off the break. Balls looks awesome, rolls very nice, and hits great in the videos. I could see this one being a winner from Lane #1.

Hate to say this guys, but whop-de-doo. Seems L1 is getting into the same ball 'ho mode that everyone else is falling into.
Seems to me, no real renovations here, just more hype.

Keep looking... I'm sure there's a 300 in one of those balls you keep buying!!
I have to agree with this statement.. I have been nothing but disappointed with the last 3 lane 1 releases, lastly the enriched uranium. I had it for 1 week sold it to another user and he had it one week.. It was not as advertised for either one of us.. There where also several other users not happy with it after all the hype.. I am gonna wait and see what people have to say about it before I go and pre-order a $175 ball and know nothing about it other then the hype everyone is coming up with by talking about it. Just my opinion, so sawheads please don't bash me.. LOL..

I agree with Jkiser, I had the Tsunami and the Enriched, and neither one of them fit me at all. With that being said, I also pre-ordered a Cobalt.
We'll see how this one turns out.

I have yet to find another ball that rolls and flips on the backend as hard as my green bomb.I think I'll give this one a try to use when the lanes dry up too much for my G.B.

I'm not bad,I just bowl that way.

Just got my Cobalt tester today and I will say the ball is absolutely gorgeous.
I have not yet thrown the ball as I was a hair too busy in the shop tonight to sneak out to the lanes and bowl.
What I will say is that Lane 1 has included some new and definitely different drillings on the drill sheet this time around.
I'll throw it some tomorrow and let you all know.....

I don't see any incredible length and explosive backend either. Not that it might not be a great ball, but it was touted as a skid/flip ball. I'm glad I didn't preorder it expecting to be the second coming of the Silver Diamond.

So does anyone agree or disagree with my earlier opinion? Just curious as to what others are thinking out there. I REALLY like the look my Tsunami gives. Got a Pearl Uranium with a mismarked CG of over 1.5inches....so not thrilled there. Would show some interest in this Cobalt if it performs as described. Thx.

I've said this before. The descriptions I've seen from the Lane1 groupies don't match the videos. I don't see the big length and big backend either. Now, not saying the ball doens't look impressive, because those pins are flyin',...but...I think it's Mike. Not that he's not a good bowler, but I think the videos may be better suited for people who can make the ball do what it's supposed to do...for marketings sake. Mike throws the ball a certain way that may not totally maximize what we're supposed to see on video, if that makes sense.
Granted, there were a few shots that looked longer and bigger, and maybe that's where the focus should stay. But, I watched the EU video right after and didn't see a very big difference at all in the balls looks. To be honest, I don't see a huge difference in any of the videos for any of the balls.
AGAIN...not saying that they aren't good....just that the videos may not necessarily do the balls justice in that they're not showing true potential. But, ...that's video,.....as discussed here before....
Just my .02...
P.S. Again.....I must say, I haven't seen pins fly like that though, that part was very impressive...TO ME

Color wise it reminds me alot of the Morich Sahara......

I drilled up my Cobalt tester yesterday and will put some games on it today.
From the drioll sheet incuded with the ball, it has to be different from the other Saws of the past.
They have a couple of negative pin drillings listed on there...that is unheard of in any company's drill sheet.
I am thinking the backend on that will is so strong that they are suggesting heavy handed guys go with a 6+" pin to PAP to get it to lay off downlane...
Time will tell and I'll post more later tonight.
PS on the videos...let's all keep in mind that Mike is a solid bowler but does not have a release that gets balls to boom on the back. He gets a strong roll on the ball ALL of the time which speaks volumes to me about the length the Cobalt is capable of. Put this ball in the hands of a bowler with a lot of axis rotation and a good amount of tilt and I think you'll see an extreme angle like you have never seen from a Lane 1 ball.
