Help With My H2O
« on: December 12, 2005, 08:09:07 AM »
here is the layout H2O
is this a ball that would be good for dry lanes or flying backends?
the MB pin is slighty negative

im looking for it to slide up front and flip roll on the back.
i told my ball driller this, havent been able to use it as the conditions ive been on have been manageable with other equipment.

just looking for opinions.
my 3 ball line up is Absolute Inferno->Uranium Pearl->H2O
all layouts are in my profile for those balls also if that helps.

i like to stay down and in for my A game, but the absolute is teaching me a lot about opening it up a bit.

medium revs, able to use different releases, 15-16 MPH speed.

im not a expert by any means but the 2 balls i have drilled with a similar drilling both seem to get fairly good length so it should be ok for dry but ive heard the h2O is alot stronger than what its labled to be so even a tame drilling it might be alittle stronger than what you wanted but remember im just going off of how my other balls with that drill and what others say about it

think about it, label leverage puts the MB at about the same spot right?
and if CG has no effect of ball reaction, it should react similar to a label drilled symmetric right?

the mass bias on this core isnt that strong ive heard.

megamev, you need to go out & throw it. That drilling should still give you a good reaction throughout & should still turn up on the backend, however maybe not quite as strong or violent as it would if the locator pin was right of thumb.

excellent, thank you
i will grab this H2O first thing in practice, and see how it matches up to wood, medium oil, christmas tree pattern and clean backends.

will update tomorrow night

******************************UPDATE******************************

well... it definately hits like a dumptruck
ive never bowled at this house before.
but this is how it went for me
207-188-206-204 = 805

first game was about feel, tried to find a good spot, started out slow finished strong.

second game, the lane buff dried up, and things got squirelly. migrated inside late, finished well.

third game, played inside, around 3rd arrow, ball finished insane this game.
got on a pretty good roll.

4th game, everyone on the other team was struggling, i stayed on my line from the 3rd game and stayed behind the ball, i could tell it was losing some energy though, left 4 10 pins that game and missed 2 which is very rare for me.

this ball is great for christmas tree pattern, very smooth, about 3 boards of error to work with, finishes strong, sometimes too strong.
its a flip roll ball, and fits the "control" moniker perfectly
picked up 6 out of 8 10 pins all night.
we swept all 6 games of position week (1+1+1+1+2), first time all season for them.
coincidence? i think not.

ive already had people staring at my ball asking me what it was and where to get one.

there was a team down the alley from mine that had 3 tsunami's, its the first time ive seen buzzsaws besides mine in the area.

i guess to win the big chips you gotta have the big chips right?

ill try the uranium next week, im experimenting, as im establishing an average for the next 2 weeks.
