Core type vs. drill type
« on: December 18, 2006, 01:28:19 PM »
Here are a few of my favorites (work well for me):

Bombs with label 1:30...
Black Cherry Bomb
Army Green Carbide Bomb
Super Carbide Bomb

Bombs with CG out...
Hybrid Megatons
Super Carbide Bomb
Cobalt Solid

Diamond with label 1:30...
Solid Uranium
Pearl Uranium
Bullet
XXXL

Diamond with CG out...
Uranium HRG
Emerald Buzzsaw
Blueberry Buzzsaw

And now some that did not work so well for me:
Hybrid Dirty Bomb (CG out)
Cobalt Pearl (5x5 stacked)
Carbide+ (label 1:30)
Tsunami (CG out)

I know these will raise some eyebrows. The last 3 balls listed are some favorites of other users. For me, they are condition specific as layed out. I have found a few good scenarios to use them in (mostly sport shots of various length and volume). I have enough THS friendly balls that I have chosen not to plug and redrill any of these. The only one I am going to try again with a different layout is the Cobalt Pearl. I know that ball will be money with a CG out drill.

So what have the rest of you sawheads experienced?

All my stuff is Cg out, Mostly pin under ring except my Cobalt Pearl which has not been redrilled yet...

Pearl Carbide Bomb
Nugget x 2
H20
all pin under cg swung,

Pro Purple
Silver D
all pin above cg out.

Cobalt Pearl
1:30 Label

on the way
Uranium, I was told it was pin under. Hopefully a tad stronger than the nuggets and Tsunami....if not according to lane #1 this sucker is versatile so I will make it so.....
H20 #2, for backup in case the first one gets hurt.
and
Tsunami, for above the oil scale of the nuggets.

And pending my right elbow stopping hurting...... this stuff may get plugged and redrilled lefty.....

I have an Enriched Uranium and a Red XXXL, both drilled Pin under RF and CG out (4 1/4 x 3 1/2) and this drilling has worked great for me on these two balls.
