New to Lane #1
« on: April 22, 2004, 09:18:03 AM »
Hello everyone. I have been using Storm equipment and now I would like to try something from Lane #1. From this site I noticed that there are many Lane #1
fans, which I think could even surpass others. Since I'm new to Lane #1, here's my question, which Lane #1 balls have similarities in action to Storm's Fear Factor and Triple-X Factor?
I've been using The Fear Factor for oily lanes and the Triple-X for medium oil.
For your information I'm have a medium speed, medium revs and medium to low axis rotation. Ball suggestions are highly appreciated. I would prefer all to be reactives. Thank you.

I found the rolling of cherry bomb is so much like the ebonite instant killer pearl, but the cherry bomb is more hitting power, my suggestion is don't drill the lane#1 ball too aggressive (big balance hole, max flare 3 3/8.....etc), the selling point of lane#1 ball is hard rolling and hitting power, although some brand say their ball hard hook but once you try lane#1, you can see the carry from the 4 pin, 10pin, 7 pin, it is so amazing. but don't use them on bad condition lane, they will cry !

Lane#1 does make some of the best equipment available.  I have strayed away a couple times, but always find myself coming back.

Their truely strong big hooking oil ball is the super carbide bomb.  It is a super ball for heavy oil.  It may require some surface "fine-tuning" to get good results (I needed to polish both of mine in order to get them down the lane w/out burning up energy).  This ball will give you a very strong and early roll.. which is good for oil.  This would be a great substitute for the fear factor.  As for the xxx factor, you would be looking for a stronger pearl.  There are two good choices here: either the new Uranium or the Cherry Bomb.  The cherry bomb is more of a skid/snap type of ball reaction, nice length and huge backend.  On the other hand, the Uranium give you a heavier roll and a more ocntrolled arcing reaction.  Both are super balls, just depends on which type of reaction you are looking for.

Thanks for the replies. I might try the Uranium Buzzsaw for medium
oil. As for oily lanes (heavy), I do not favor particle
coverstocks actually. I have read about the Black Cherry Bomb. It's a
solid reactive. The question is does this ball fits my style of bowling
as mentioned in my previous post?
Thanks.
