My Cranberry is currently dulled to 600. What I've found is that it is too close to my Black Cherry. Both are drilled strong but with the Cranberry dulled the reactions are way too similar (the Black Cherry goes slightly longer). I love the p18 cover, it's very versatile, you can do almost anything with it. Anyway, I'm just curious if anyone knows what the factory finish is on the Cranberry. I'd like to restore it to get a longer, less strong reaction on it.

I think that the Cranberry is a 1000 grit sand with a light buff. From your 600 grit you can probably hit it with Tracks Clean N Sheen and then a coat of a gloss polish. If that is not exact, it will get you close to the factory finish.

Will those cats ever put any relevant coverstock finish info on their website?

Thanks Doug!!
And Curly, I couldn't agree with you more.....I love Lane #1 stuff but this information should be readily available on their site.

Yeah, being a "peoples company" and all. How many times has this issue come up, and still nothing......At least our man Doug is willing to help us!

Doug (and golfnut),
I am pretty sure that Track's Clean and Sheen is supposed to take a 320 grit dull ball to a 1000 grit polish. At least that's what their ads saw. When I have used it with a spinner, that final shine is pretty good. Balls seem to travel a good distance. I guess I am suggesting that, if golfnut does use Clean and Sheen, that he try it before using an additional gloss polish.

Thanks charlest. That's exactly what I was going to do! After Doug's response I figured that I would try the Clean N Sheen first and then add polish as necessary.
