Well guys I have got to tell you. I put holes in my Curve today and tried to throw it in league tonight. Yes, that's right, I said TRIED to throw it in league....HOLY CRAP BATMAN!!!!
I used the basic #1 drilling off the Hammer Black Widow drill sheet...pin over bridge with the cg kicked out 1" and the mass bias is on my VAL since the pin/cg and MB are not in perfect line. No weighthole was required.
This ball is an absolute beast. I ended up standing 10 boards left of where I was with my Blue Death and targeting a full arrow inside of my Blue Death line. So I guess that makes the Curve hook 15 boards more than my Blue Death! However the Curve is ALLLLL backend. The first 45 feet of the lane might as well not even be there....
The Blue Death is an incredible ball for me and it's probably the best ball I have drilled up in the last 4-5 years. I cannot wait to get more time behind the Curve and get it on the spinner to try some surface changes....I think this ball is going to be awesome.
While it is true that the new Lane 1 balls are not the same as the Old Lane 1 balls, the old Lane 1's left some to be desired on many levels. I think the new core and coverstock combinations are matching up great with today's lane conditions. We just need a few WEAKER pieces....
Can I make a plea for the Creature Pearl cover wrapped around the XXXL core?
For those of you who have shunned the "New Lane 1" I suggest you give it a try....I think you will be pleasantly surprised at what they can do. What you must avoid, however, is just doing a 100% comparison to the old Brunswick poured stuff. Just do an unbiased comparison and see what happens....
