I personally recommend the Solid Uranium. It is more suited for what you are looking for. There are very mixed reviews on the Hybrid DB and the DB will not handle as much oil as the Solid Uranium. Just my opinion. Good luck.

The Uranium Solid is the best choice for heavy oil. I agree with others as I have two of it. Also have two Hybrid Dirty Bombs, one in box condition. Another
dulled, meant to handle more oil. For my type of game the Solid Uranium is much more suitable to be used on oily lanes compared to the Hybrid Dirty Bomb.

MIxed Reviews of the two Dirty's what are you smoking my friend?  These are possibly two of the best balls Lane#1 has ever made I definitely know some would say this and it can also be seen in the sales of these two balls.  The pearl dirty bomb has replaced a number of other balls in my bag.  FOr me the Hybrid handles all the oil I see because I for one have more revs than ball speed but as the previous have mentioned is not a true oiler.  If you do need something more then yes the SOlid Uranium will be ok, but this is the ball for me that gets Mixed Reviews.  Its extremely grabby and must have oil or else will just burn up and appear not to hook or hit, and its definitely an arching ball but if you got the oil it will work for you.  JUst remember it shares the Ultimate Inferno cover which is basically particle without the particle and I know for certian the Ultimate inferno for many is love or hate and usually if they hate it its because lack of oil and it appears not to be the hook monster promised,  i have several of the local bowlers here complain of this for their Ultimates.

OK my friend, as I said, the Hybrid Dirty Bomb has had mixed reviews as far as their lifespan (see Lane1 forum here). I personally have thrown the Hybrid Dirty Bomb with 2 different layouts for approximately 50 games and I am not as sold on it's performance as some of the past releases to include the Uranium line. As far as the original Dirty Bomb, it is a pretty good ball from my experience also having thrown a few but will not handle Medium-Heavy oil as he stated he needed. Therefore, I stick to my original suggestion of the Solid Uranium "my friend." Good luck with whatever you decide.

Just some thoughts with respect to comments by Charles:

Always take life span comments on the forums (for any ball) with a grain of salt. If I had a dollar for every comment to the effect of "my ball died after 20 games", I'd retire as a rich man. I have the HDB -- close to 100 games now -- and the ball hasn't lost a beat. Now, a total resurface on the HDB (or any ball for that matter) can be a crap shoot if you don't know what you're doing, so be aware of reading too much into posts on negative results.

The Uraniums and the Dirty Bombs (I have them all) are very different in reaction and all have their place. Personally, I think the pearl Uranium is the most versatile ball available from any company, but there are conditions where the DB's are the clear choice. It's just a matter of how much backend you're trying to tackle.

Not a bad recommendation at all. With the right cover prep, the solid Uranium can cover anything from mediums to heavy. However, if you have any hand at all and can get a ball into a good forward roll, the HDB can cover a lot of oil in it's own right.
