Wolf...that's actiually an interchangeable thumb slug from Grip Loc that I use in everything except the SCB and the PowerGroove.

kid....no spare balls actually...the PG has an incredible backend on teh right condition....

revo...The SCB isnt polished, the H2O and SOlid U are only lightly polished.

Man I can't believe you guys are not seeing this...

You have the same drill pattern on most of the balls. You have an arsenal of one reaction.

you seem to drill almost every around a stacked drill?

You're missing an Enriched Uranium?
Title: Re: Do I have a problem???
Post by: Doug Sterner on March 01, 2006, 09:35:10 PM
I have had other drillings on other balls but I keep coming back to a 4x4 type drill...

I had a Dirty Bomb drilled like the solid U, 5-1/2 x 4 Enriched, 4x4 Solid U, a 5-1/2 x 3-1/2 Pearl Uranium, 5x4 Super Carbide, 5x4 Hybrid, thumb leverage Silver Diamond, 4x3 Golden Nugget, 2x6 Emerald, 1:30 label Bullet, pin under ring XXL, 1:30 label shift Cherry Bomb, 5x3 Black Cherry Bomb and the list goes on.....

Yes I have a similar ball reaction among those balls but with the radically different coverstock preps and finishes and my ability to change wrist positions and willingness to move around on the lane, I can handle just about anything I run into locally.

The Pioneer and the H2O are both drilled for low flare....

The power groove had a tight bridge without inserts when I got it....had to use inserts so that's the best I could do...

Simply drill a 1-3/8 hole for the outer sleeve but there is a catch...

You need to be 100% sure:

1. you use the same pitch in every ball
2. you drill the hole the same depth each time

that's about it...

I always thought it would be cool to have an arsenal of all the same colored balls that covered conditions pretty well. Like a Roto Epic, Dynothane The Thing, and Roto Sonic X pearl.

ANybody else ever notice that you throw one color of ball better than others?

For me if I look back I have always liked black, blue and green....

Black Hammer, Black Phantom, Black Ultimate Weapon, XXXL, Super Carbide, Midnite Scorcher, Black Hammer 2001,

JackHammer, Emerald Buzzsaw, Jade Piranha/C

Blue Hammer, Blue Pearl Hammer, 3-D Offset Maxx, Blue Pearl Pulse, Uranium PEarl, H2O, SOlid Uranium, Tsunami, Turbo X, Super Beast, Trauma, X Factor

Is it possible or am I nuts??

I have never really bowled great with bright colors like yellow and orange... they just seem less dense and weak or something... it's weird I know.

Invert....I have fielded a lot of comments regarding my lack of variety in drill patterns.

With the surface prep I have on those balls they may all have a similar reaction shape but they do not overlap for me.

I may not have a 100% complete arsenal for tournaments but it works extremely well for the shots I see locally here.
